What do you do to get to sleep?

I have Thom go to sleep first, than I turn on the fan. Put ear plugs in my ears and make sure the room is really dark. Then I turn on my right side and make sure the cover in up to my neck and turn the pillow on the cool side, Then I never move again until I wake up. I know I never move, because my side of the bed is still made. Do you have "things" that make sleeping come fast?

When I go into my room to sleep I start by putting on the side light and turning off the main one. Then I get into bed and sit up and read till my eyes start to feel heavy. Then I turn onto my side and switch out the light pulling all the covers around my back.
If I can't sleep like this after a while I will turn onto my back for a bit and do some meditation.

Me too, I get to bed and until I get really sleepy and cant take it anymore, I read. If not I try to solve Sudoku or any similar puzzles.

I don't fall asleep quickly because I have to listen to my toddler's monitor, making sure she is not calling me or no strange noise around the house. Then I find a comfortable position, which is difficult because the moment my husband feels my presence, I am a human pillow. Then I think of what transpired during the day, then what will I do the following day. I try to clear my head of anything so I can go to bed peacefully.
My last resort, funny as it sound, is counting sheep. Before I reached 50...i am off to zzzz land..lol.

first I re-make the bed. My husband and I sleep in different shifts, as I work midnights and he always leaves the bed a mess. Then I fluff my 4 pillows, squishing one under my neck, pull the cover up to my neck, and turn on my side. Then I lay there waiting to fall asleep. It always takes me a while because it's day time and your body automatically wants to be up !!

I get into bed and under my covers and then talk to my bf for a either a few mins or a couple hours. This usually puts me at ease and i can fall asleep. earlier I used to fall asleep listening to music. And I do toss and turn around a lot at night. I almost never land up getting up in the same place i slept in:)

If you believe, i had to put some imaginations on my mind if i really couldn't sleep (no, it's NOT imaginations of anything dirty of any sort). These imaginations usually lead me to sleep.

Usually I go to our tv room and watch some programmes for sometimes...I will start feeling sleepy by then..Then I go to my room and start reading my books and it will definitely make me sleep especially if Im reading them in the time gap between 10 to 12 in the night...If I dont sleep by 1,then its very difficult for me to get sleep after that...

i think what really makes me sleep is mind relaxation besides that i should feel sleepy.i usually turn on the fan or ac,i really need cold for sleep if its summer.i like cool air hitting my face, it brings sleep to me very fast.i take pillow without it i cant have any sleep at all, there has to be a very smooth blanket.or else if its winter i just need a thick blanket that keeps me warm.and ya there has to be completely darkness otherwise it disturbs me.

I tried ear plugs but was worried something serious would happen and I wouldn't hear - like someone breaking into the house or my son sneeking out of the house I couldn't sleep at all. I fall asleep, watching tv (set it to shut off in an hour), reading, or crochetting.

I have a really hard time falling asleep. I have to read a while. I have my heatblanket turned on as high as possible. I lay there for the longest time and just try to relax. If it has been near impossible to sleep for a few days I will take a pill - my doctor prescribed an antihistamine for me. It will make me sleep longer when i manage to fall asleep. I tried a sleeping pill - just made me ill

It depends on the time of year. I have to have a fan on if it is hot. I have to have my body pillow. Hubby works nights so I sleep in a bed mostly alone. So I get the whole bed to move around in. I turn off all the lights even the antenna light and go to sleep. Oh and it has to be quiet in the house or I sleep horribly.

I try to go to sleep before my husband, because he snores and is a restless sleeper. But I sleep a lot like you. I curl up on my right side, push the pillow under my neck, I have to be covered, even in the summer and fall promptly to sleep. I very rarely wake during the night and I wake in the same position that I fell asleep in.

I always read a little bit before I go to sleep. If I'm really tired, I can only read a couple of paragraphs before I'm nodding off. Sometimes I put on some music, something mellow at a real low volume, or I'll have the TV on and set the sleep timer for it to shut off. It depends what mood I'm in when I go to bed, but all these things seem to work for me. If they don't, I get on the computer until I get too tired.
