They say that even playing games like scrabble exercises the mind. You can find several word games and other games online that you have to think to play. Read a book and or magazine articles.I am sure there are books out there to that talk about how to strengthen memory too. I hope this helps.

Sleep early and rise early in the morning, eat vegetables cooked or raw more and more. Avoid to eat fat food, avoid depression or bad thinking, be religious and eat brain of beef, goat and some herbal medicine or brain tonic from your local shop to increase memory - do not worry it is for the time being and once you will get back a nice memory.

They say that people who were given anaesthesia, especially women who are giving birth, tend to suffer from memory lapses.
Better consult your doctor on this, before it worsens.

After I stopped working outside the home, my memory started getting bad and I felt like I was actually not as smart as I used to be. You have to start doing things that require you to use you brain more and work it. Some read a lot, and they say crosswords puzzles greatly improve the brain things. I started doing a lot of different things that involved using my brain more and now its all back. My memory is better and I'm pretty swift again.

It's part of nature sister! Don't try to look for remedy to make it ok again.. it will eventually degrade.. what we need is a way to cope up with it and to accept that growing old comes with more wisdom yet we will loose something in return

I completely agree with Karmalina. In order to improve your memory you must concentrate on rememberring things. Concentrate on rememberring things when you think them up. Concentrate on rememberring things after you've forgotten about them. Use patters, smells, and visuals in order to help associate different categories of thoughts. Practice enough and you will start rememberring childhood experiences, lost feelings, and much more.
The method of remberring is also important. Try to clear your brain and meditate on the topic of what your trying to remember. I think you will find this works much better than trying to "force" your brain to remember something.

Well it is like this. there may be many reasons for memory loss. To me as far as i know i can figure out two major problems.
One among them is You might be having many things revolving in your mind at the time u think of doing some thing in another 5 or 10 mins. But the thoughts swirling around in your mind would let you forget the thing which you are supposed to do. Try to free your mind, dont undergo too much stress.
Else it may be a herditary problem. in both of the cases its better you approach a good doctor.
Even i do have this problem and i am pretty sure thats cause of the stress i am undergoing so i am not worried a lot about this issue. Wish you good luck and hope you will be relieved from this soon. :)

i am also having this type of problem but in a small limit, the best way is to consult with a doctor. definatly he will suggest you some techniques and routine exercises which will help you by raising good memory power.

I shall suggest you some simple and free thearpy on this problem.
1.
Start counting 100 to 1 (specifically in reverse order).
Try to say it without any stop in a contineous & monotonus rythum, if you stop some where start from the begining again. Do it three times in the morning as soon as you wake up & three times in the evening just before going to bed. In a weeks time you should be able to finish it in one stroke without a break in between while saying this.
Ignore few times in the begining.
You will find the difference in a months time.
2.
In addition to this.....
Soak "5 almonds" in water in a dish in the evening and eat them in the morning before taking anything like tea or coffee. This should increase your memory power in five weeks time.
3.
Just sit calm and quite with your eyes closed for ten minutes every day in the morning little before the sunrise. This too helps you to gain your memory a lot.

i completely understand your problem,
first thing you have do is: Remove from your mind that you forget things,be calm ,happy ,take it lightly. keep on talking with the person whom you feel more comfortable to express yourself .who can help you honestly.try to recollect your words related to some things.if it is concers about money matter make a note of everything you have discussed in a small diary ,try to carry that always with you. try to follow this later you can go for future precautions.take care. Keep Smiling

This might sound rather silly, but if you play games where you need to remember something it helps a lot. Word games seem to make me feel sharper as well. Getting enough sleep, as said before is also important.

The brain drain. I think its a natural phenomenon or it could be from the fact that you've become a busy bee because of this new life. You have so many things to do and so many responsibilities, you will tend to block out or forget the most simple ones. I don't know if this would help but try association, associate one thing from another. For example, you need to get the laundry done and then bring the kids to the dentist. Now, imagine a dentist doing the laundry but instead of a laundry his cleaning this huge cavity filled teeth inside the washing machine. Yeah, I know it sounds crazy but isn't it the most craziest thing or the most horrible things are the things we never forget. I do the same thing when memorizing medical terms. Its a great help. I've finished a close to a hundred words in just one sitting.

Take it easy.I think it was caused by your busy life and pressure came from your family. In this case, the brain may ignore the routine thing but take it as an accustomed reaction.Sometimes I often forget that whether locked the door.I'm still a young man and I thought my memory is well.so just relax and don't give yourself too much pressure .Life will be better.
