I find his work and television sermons to be very uplifting. He speaks in a manner that anyone can understand. He chooses topics that can be related to every day life. I have never been a very religious person, my family didn't raise me that way. But I do watch Joel and if he came to my town, I would attend in person. I think he is a fresh face in religion and does an awesome job of getting the word out. What do you guys think of Joel?

Yes I have heard of him. I think he is great. IF I ever get to Texas I plan on visiting his church. I feel he does a great job explaining things to people in a way that many can understand.
He has a great presence. I actually refer to him as Smiling Joel cause he always seems to be smiling.

I have been to his church numerous times. It is amazing and like a rock concert for God when you are there. Everyone should read his book. I am such a believer that if the whole world read his books, the quality of life everywhere would improve

Oh I love to listen to Joel Osteen! He is a wonderful messenger of God.
I also love to hear Dr Charles Stanley as well.
Rev Billy Graham is another one!
Thank God for wonderful men and women who have given their lives to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

I do thank God for Joel.. I don't think I would have been able to understand if not for him. He provides me with a greater sense of self worth and spirituality.

Yes I agree. He is a soft spoken positive person who never studied to be a minister although his father was one. He has critics who say that he is "light" but most people here in Houston appreciate what he does.

No matter what the critics say, he has brought many people, who never normally would have on their own, to know and love God.

Joel is amazing. I have just written a very long response in anothe discussion on here and don't have the energy to write it again, but I can tell you his book "Your best life now" changed my life and how I look at life. For those who want to critisize him - well maybe you are missing his message.
God bless him and keep him keepin on.

After going through and reading all of the responses here I feel like I am missing something. I have never heard of Joel Osteen and I will have to ask my mom if she has and what all the hoopla is about. She may have his book and if not we will have to find it to decide for ourselves.
thanks!
