why some people is more successful than others?

I have also noticed this thing. many a times hardwork doesn't pay thats when lady luck should favor you. my brother was a genius chap but didn't make it to the good engineering college but then after a year luck favoured him and without any effort he got in to MCA and is now successful in his field of work. TIll high school, we didn't even knew what he will do in future and suddenly now everything is riunning in his favor.I call it lady luck.

I think that it is all to do with the attitude you have towards life. If you have a good positive attitude then it is easier for you to be able to do well in whatever you put your mind to. I don't believe in luck, I think that we bring our own luck by visualising what we want instead of what we don't want.
