I was thinking about what makes people happy and I was wondering what makes different people happy. I had to really think about it for myself and it made me realize that at different times in our lives, different things make us happy.
For, me right now, mostly simple things make me happy. Getting some alone time once in awhile makes me happy. The simple act of buying a new pair of shoes for myself makes me happy. Being able to provide my son with all that he needs makes me happy. Sewing lately has been making me happy. Knowing how to cook from scratch, even if it takes longer in the kitchen, makes me happy.
What about you? What makes you happy?

I am most happy when I know that everything is going ok for my family and friends, and nothing major is going wrong with their lives. Also being able to visit my friends that live a bit far from me makes me feel happy when I can catch up with them, and when we go shopping and see something nice to buy or to buy to cook I will be happy it is not hard to make me feel happy either.

The thing that makes me happy right now is being able to have peace and quiet. Not having to worry about stressful situations. I love being able to just relax and pamper myself with some of my favorite things. Life can be so hectic and we need a break.

Lots of little things make me happy. I like baking treats for my kids, I enjoy scrapbooking makes me happy, I find happieness in reading a good book and going swimming with my children. I really get happy when we go on vacation to a warm place with a beach!

My instant reply to the title question is:
"Me" I make me happy or unhappy as the case may be. We can make the best of the worst situations, or the worst of the best situations. I love the old haley mills movie called Pollyanna. (I have not seen the new releases by the same title so can not speak for them)
Like you, I get much joy in providing little things for my family - cooking meals from scratch is one of those things.
