I don't usually get the obsessive singing of songs anymore, It is usually bits and pieces of the same songs I loved as a teenager that I sing over and over again.

Yesterday while I was in a car,an old song played and I told my husband, I don't like the song that much because of its lyrics. When we arrived home, I kept singing few lines and my hubby laughed at me.

This happens to me a lot. I was told that it most often happens when you only hear half of a song, like if your listening to the radio in the car and if you shut the car off in the middle of a song, it sticks with you. But if you let it play to the end that wont happen. I catch myself waiting for the song to end before I shut the car off anymore..(I learned this in Psychology class). Who knows though. I know when I was a waitress I had a habit of whistling all the time, and found that I would whistle the band-aid song (I am stuck on band-aid brand cuz band-aids stuck on me)...lol So I had that song in my head for a L-O-N-G time, people were even trying to teach me new songs cuz they were so tired of hearing it too...lol

Now that I think of it, Through Glass from Stone Sour lingers in my mind constantly these days, and all the progressions I made while playing it...it's a nice song, and now I realize how catchy can it be :D

I have a chemical imbalance in my brain where sounds that I hear while I'm doing something else will sometimes get repeated over and over again in my mind. It's due to an overabundance of a certain chemical in the brain. When I used to listen to music while at work, songs would play in my head all the time even when I didn't have the music on. Sometimes, it was quite annoying, but I could control it somewhat. It's gotten a lot better, but sometimes I get a song stuck in my head from time to time. Most of the time it doesn't bother me, though.
I think I had "Kumbyaa" in my head this morning while bike riding. It's not an unpleasant song to have in ones head, too.

It happens often to me... One of the "worst" ones, which tends to do so is "Prima donna" from Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of the opera". You know, "prima donna, first lady of the stage, your devotees are on their knees..." etc., etc. Such a nice, rolling melody. Arrrggghhh! If I hear THIS ONE, couple of days in it's presence is guaranteed.
There are some others too, though, FE "Leave light on for me", and, perhaps the worst one, because it's in Italian and not very easy to sing is "I Treni di tozeur" - actually it's a very beautiful song, and perhaps the most favourite from all Eurovision contest songs all times.
Want to test? There is the link to it's YouTube clip LOL! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PthV0GxTQg
