Some people may not like this idea...but what if there was an option to choose "worst response"...Would you use it? I know there are times when the spammers respond with stupid replies that I think this option would really come in handy! What do you think...Is it too cruel?

I think this is a great idea. It can be so aggravating to have someone answer with a dumb response. I know for sure that I would use that option if it were available.

The problems that I forsee with such a thing are that some people would use it improperly. For example if someone disagreed with them, then some people would give them a worse response. Already it does appear that some members were misusing the negative rating for this very reason. So, being able to give a worst response has the potential to destroy the chances of having a good honest discussion.
If the worst response was openly marked, then the author of the discussion could be "stalked" by the person who receives it. Again this has happened with other discussions where someone has disagreed with the poster.
I think it is much better to use the negative rating for those who are spamming, although I would like to see that changed so that a reason for such a rating had to be given. This could stop those who give a negative rating simply because someone else disagreed with them. The other option with spammers and those who respond with absolute garbage, is to report them to myLot. It is often the case that those who spam do so in more than one discussion and myLot is able to check that and take action accordingly.
Good idea paradisesuns, but I suspect that it would be too easily abused by a element of the members.

It seem like a good idea but I am sure the spammers would just retaliate by giving us a negative rating. This happens on auction sites. I think it could work, if the person who got the worse response was prohibited from rating anybody, that way our ratings would be safe.

No, I don't think it would be cruel because the people you are talking about don't check back to see if there is a reply to their response anyway. I think we are better off just giving them a negative rating if they are bad enough, or reporting them if they are obviously cheating.

It is not a bad idea, but I am not sure how much it will work for it's purpose. Now also we are using minus rating, reporting to Mylot but some people don't want to learn after all this also.
May be "worst response" can work in a way that this will be given openly like "best response", so they will feel the shame may be and will try to avoid cheating and answers like "I don't know".

Personally I think it wouldn't work. Some people on here can't even use the negative feedback button properly and use it when someone doesn't agree with them.
It would be good if you could do something yourself to deter them.
Ach well, only focus on the good they say. Happy myLotting paradisesuns.
