Blue Jeans at Work--Can you wear them or not?

Do you wear blue jeans to work? Is this an everyday thing or does your company have Casual Day Fridays? Or do you have a strict dress code to follow?
We have a pretty informal dress code here. If there are visitors scheduled or important meetings, we dress nicely. Otherwise, since this is a university and it is spring break or summer months the dress code is very relaxed. Jeans are fine for any day as long as you don't have special events going on or meetings to attend.
I think it is great as long as it is not abused. What are the dress codes at your office and do you get to wear blue jeans to work?

strict dress code here - its uniform or get disciplined. I work in a hospital so i actually don't mind because of the dirty things i'm around i wouldn't want to get all the germs on my every day clothes or have them spoiled. It is boring wearing the same thing day in and day out it does mean i don't have the difficult disicion of having to decide what to wear every morning :) I know plenty of offices do do blue jeans day or dress down days on friday, so i guess it depends on your industry.

Uniforms can be good in a way--you don't have to decide what you are wearing for the day! You already KNOW! I change my mind several times some days...lol.

well i work from home, so my dress code is as relaxed as you can get, but when i have to go into the office, it is business casual dress, which is where we can wear jeans, capris, plain t-shirts, or our work logo on them, sneakers, sandals but no flip flops which just stinks.
