the greatest guitarist ever

steve vai is the greatest guitarist to live to this day. the only people who even come close to his greatness are joe satriani and zakk wylde.

Considering the fact that Steve Vai was the student of Joe Satriani, although he is a great guitarist, I think the teacher is the far better guitarist than the student.

you are wrong and mistaken!he is not the greatest guitarist he is just kinda ok,in my opinion he is most overrated guitarist!..i wonder what kind of fan consider him as greatest???

I love Steven Vai and Joe Satriani both. I listen to "Alive in an Ultra World" all the time. It's my favorite by Vai. I also think Clapton plays a pretty mean guitar as well. And, you can't forget to add Hendrix on your list of greats.

i think satch and vai are all up there, along with a guy names akira takasaki a guitarist from a japaneese band called LOUDNESS
