It is an improper response. Would be much better to be dealing with the situation with humility or shame if need be. An apology would mean more without laughter. Not sure why the parents did not teach this to the kids. I in no way laugh when it is inappropriate.

If it's not really "shameful". I mean if I do an "embarrassing" thing or have an embarrassing situation; it helps to laugh at it and it does ease the tension, you know if you sleep and fall, if you get confused and say something stupid, and all this kind of things, yes it's bad when you laugh on someone else at these situations but when you laugh at yourself it puts everyone at ease and it does make you more friends and you become more popular, and of course you get out from the embarrassing situation easily :)

laughing can be brought on boy a nervous reaction, I don't usually laugh when I am nervous, I tend to talk too much.

I just cannot tolerate people who are insincere. These people think that by laughing it off, they can get away from the responsibility that comes with the act. If it is a shameful act, all the more they should be laughed at, and not laughing it off to disguise it. I think it would be better to apologise and then laugh together.

no i don't laugh to keep myself away from shame when i feel like its something to laugh over then only i use to laugh or something funny is there to laugh over
why should we laugh just to complete the formality so that others shouldn't think we haven't got good sense of humor
