I swore that i would never have kids until I was 26...then i thought the biologica clock is ticking, maybe i do want them after all...then i thought that i wasn't able to have children. THEN CAME THE NEWS...at 35, I was pregnant with twins (no help from anyone but God himself)
I was absolutely devasted at first! Overwhelmed...shocked...scared!!!
Cue to work conditions, my husband was only home 1 weekend a month, and some months he had to skip...often leaving us at home for 8 to 10 weeks at a time. He took a leave of absense through the first 6 weeks of their life, just to help me. When he had to leave, I just melted...but we had to have money coming in and starting up power plants was something that happened all over the united states, not just in one state.
Well, there we were. A boy, a girl and a mommy. you know, it was hard...and i thought that i would die of sleep deprivation (they didn't sleep all the way through the night until they were 14 months old), but I did it.
The good news, is that once they are about 6 months old it starts easing up some. By 1 year, you will have a very good grasp on things and before you know it they will be potty trained. We went through 11747 diapers by the time we were done with that.
Just take each day as just that day. Do what you can do that day and don't try to plan ahead. You will find that planning ahead with twins just doesn't work. You can have a base plan, but believe you me...things will change in a moments notice.
My twins are now 9 years old. i am raising them as a single parent again as my wonderful husband passed away july 2005. God has given me 2 children to nuture, and i intend to do my best.
God has given you 2 children to nuture too! just do your best!

Wow i got a lot of lifting reading this. I should have replied earlier i was out of town cause i see that i have to work maybe twice (hun!) well i am very pleased and chanlenged with your testimony, I beleive in God that he will make a way for me to take care of them, cause frankly its easy to do that here (faith talk)(Nigeria). And God is opening new ways each day as i am now planning to go into internet telephoning (very few here)
Thanks.

Congratulations!! That is my husbands worst fear that the next time I get pregnant it'll be twins. Since he only wants two. After having one I can only imagine the work involved with two, but that being said there would be twice the rewards too!

congratulations!
you're so freaking out! Just take each worry at a time. Respond to what you need to do. Keep it all as simple as possible. Stock up on sleep and diapers. Line up some extra hands. Drink water like you've never had it before.
You'll be just fine.

Congratulations.
I don't have twins but a cousin of mine does, she said twins are a lot of work but double the fun. Good luck on your growing family.
