You know I have made a lot of friends in my life time, but there are only a few that I would call true friends. Most of them have fallen by the way side or turned out not to be the friends I thought they were.I can honestly say that I have two friends (in real life) that have been there for me through thick and thin. One especially who I think of as my sister and who is a kindred spirit, she has been there for me through all my trials and my triumphs.I love her with all my heart. Then there are my online friends, though I have never met them they have been truly supportive through my current tough times.I really need to say Thank you so much,to my Mylot friends who have encouraged me and cried with me.Thank you for being there for me when I needed you.Much love, hugs and many blessings to you all!

I don't think I have ever had what you might call a 'bosom' friend .. I don't make friends easily .. I rarely come across folks that I can relax and be 'in tune' with ..
But I have had in the past .. and still have now .. some lovely online friends, none of whom I have met .. I have never really made friends with anyone from work .. they were just acquaintances .. and I do have some lovely neighbours .. friendly but not 'friends' as such ..
My best friend EVER is someone I have seen only twice in 15 years .. yet I can pour out my heart and soul to him and never feel used, abused or mocked by him .. he has only ever tried to help me in all these years ..
My 'other' best friend at present is an online friend .. you know who you are petal .. HUGE huggles to you ...

You truley are blessed to have the friends you have. I do not have a one... I wish I did. I mean I have my husbands friends, but I just don't think of them as my best friends or very close. They all seem to be so stuck on themselves and full of hatred and I have known them for almost 10 years now. I used to have a few before I got married, but they did not stick around too long. I have some old ones, but since I can not travel (no car) I can not see them. Funny thing is, my really good friend is a man and I can't even see him because my husband does not want me to. Boy do I miss him. I do speak to him every once in a while. always trying to get me to go out with the group even to this day..

I really am blessed to have my friends CatEyes. I'm really sorry you don't have close friends.I find it sad that your husband doesn't want you to see your male friend.I'm happy you do have some contact with him.I appreciate my friends so much,I don't know what I would do without them!.

Hugs Nikki
I am very appreciative that you are my friend. Thank you for being there for me all this time, and I am always here for you, as much as I can be. I have a few very special online friends and you are one of them. I don't have many friends offline, but I do appreciate the ones I do have. Hugs my friend.

How lucky you are to have one great friend. She sounds wonderful and very special.
I too have a few online friends who are very far away but I know they love me and care about me, some friends are new and the friendship is just starting to develop but I can think of no better place to get to know someone than here. There is a certain amount of anonymity so we can lay our souls bare if we want to.

Hi MsTickle,I am very lucky to have my dear friend. She is very special to me.I have met some wonderful people here in Mylot and I agree the anonymity is good in that you really can be yourself and share your true feelings without feeling too awkward.

I will make the short answer first, i have had alot of online friends come and go in my life. From different yahoo groups, myspace, and now here i have a new group of friends. My biggest group of friends i had was when i was age 17-31 years old. My senior year in high school the marching band played at a indoor soccer game. From then on i was hooked on soccer and i became good long time friends with alot of players that came to cleveland to play indoor pro soccer, alot of them came and went over the years. One i mad good friends with, he was like a brother since i never had any. We still keep in touch via email even thou he retired and moved with his family back to NY.
I do have to add that i do love my friends here on mylot and having patience with me while i fall behind on discussions. LOL.

Yes Nikki I know what you are saying. Well my best Friend is not happy that I have moved away so she is being a bit distant with me now after 20 years of Friendship. But I am afraid it is my Life and I am not staying where I do not really want to be because she wants me to. She has her Husband there my Love is down here. The only way I would have thought twice about moving would have been if my Kids asked me not to. But my Friends online are very dear to me and supportive. I have met one and I am about to meet another one which I am really looking forward to. I will always be here for my Friend when she wants me but I will not live my Life her way. Sorry I love her very much, but I have to live my Life. It hurts yes but it used to hurt more to be so far away from the Man I love.

True friends, the kind you trust with anything, are few and far between and are a gift. But, online friends are valuable also and can be found here if we are open to them. Glad you have gotten the love and support you needed from mylots...it's a great place!
