You can ask anyone to be your friend. But, not everyone you ask will accept everyone else as a friend, so don't be alarmed if they don't accept you. Some people are picky about who they will accept and not accept. Also, you can delete your friends if you want.

if you want to invite someone or to add someone in your list, dont think much and just add them....and let them think whether to accept your invitaion or not....normally ppl go by your profile to accept your invitaion and so if you want to add ppl then have a sound profile :)

Hello graciela...... Welcome to mylot. You can send request to anyone to add you to their friends list. Gerenally it would be members with similar interests, but not necessarily. Referrals are people you invite to join mylot. Tom

You can invite anyone to be a friend. They don't have to accept you, but I find that most people do. It is great to have friends as you can get their new discussions directly emailed to you and then you know that you will get a lot of good quality discussions directly into your mailbox without having to search the site for them.
