No Complaining Challenge

Have you heard about this? A Pastor put up the challenge to his congregation to go 21 days without complaining. He was just on Oprah. He even had a bracelet made. You wear it on your wrist. If you find yourself complaining about something then you move the bracelet to your other wrist. The idea is to keep the bracelet on the same wrist for 21 days in a row because it takes 21 days to make a new habit. I think this is a great idea. The best part is he is giving these bracelets away for free to everyone in the world (but welcomes donations). I suppose I can just use a bracelet I already have but I'm going to check out his website anyway. They say it could take up to two months to receive your bracelet.
This is a great step towards thinking positively and bringing positive energy into your life. Is anyone else up for the challenge? I am!

Good grief .. never mind the complaining .. I'd have no idea what wrist my bracelet started on .. I'd have soon forgotten how many times I'd moved it too ..
I suppose it's a good idea .. but then what constitutes a 'complaint' .. "ohh dear it's raining" .. that's a complaint I suppose .. but surely that wouldn't count ..or would it ?

I did a small read on Rev.Bowen's complain free world plan.
According to Bowen, the average person complains 20 times a day for 30 days,to me thats a lot of complaining. It sounds like a good plan as it helps to stop criticisms, gossiping or using sarcasm(as he mentioned on his interview with George Lewis NBC) which alot of people apply in their daily lives.Bowen also mentioned that it took him three and half months to put together 21 complaint-free days,i suppose the challenge won't be easy.It has taken others up to seven months to come up with the 21 complaint free days.
Iam up to the challenge patgalca though iam sure it won't be easy, but then again that's why its a challenge right?

Brilliant! More people should be thinking this way and miserable complaining people just bring us all down. Let's surround us with positive people!

The following came in the email confirming my order:
***How do I know if I'm complaining?
To "complain" is defined as "to express pain, grief, or discontent." Surely, it
makes sense to express pain, grief or discontent occasionally but most people do
so a lot. In so doing, they are talking and thinking about what they do not
want in their life and, thereby, attracting more pain, grief and discontent.
Instead, think and talk about what you are grateful for. Talk about what you DO
want and not what you DON'T want.

That's me. I tend to express a lot of "discontent." Every time I feel it. I will just be a part of the complainer club and enjoy it.

thats ounds like a fantastic idea and I am for anything that is positive. He had a great idea and it will help many people. I hope alot of people do hear about it and give it a try. The donations would be going to good causes too. Good for him and the people who support positive actions.

Yes, I'm willing to give a donation if I can just find the website. I checked Oprah.com but they didn't give a link to the website. Of course I looked before the show had finished airing. I did send them an email. I also checked the Pastor's website and came up empty but only did one search. It is, by the way, complaintfreeworld.org.

What a great idea!!! I am all up for that challenge, I know that sometimes i do complain a lot LOL
As you say I suppose we can use any bracelet but it would be nice to have the real one.
What is the website, do you know?
Positive change is great. Glad you posted this discussion :)

Sounds like a wonderful idea to me. All of us could probably benefit from wearing such a bracelet. As long as we recognize our own complaining. Most of use complain about others complaining but, fail to recognize how much we complaine ourselves. Maybe having to switch the bracelrt so many times would help us to recognize this. I'm in for the challange.

Me???? I want to complain and raise as much hell as I can. Yes, I sweat the small stuff. It depends on how much you are willing to take from people and how tolerate you are. Good for you. Me???? I want to raise hell.
