When I did my teacher training I specialised in English. In schools we call it Literacy. I love teaching young children to read. I like to capture their imagination with attractive and colourful picture books. Often children are enchanted by the text saying one thing and the illustation showing something different or adding considerably to the text. Books can make them laugh. Indeed, I have trouble reading Would you Rather without laughing so very much my class can't follow the text. So I can say I enjoy developing in children a love of reading and books.
Teaching young children how to write is also very rewarding. I like to help them hold a pencil correctly and form their letters in the write way. One school I taught at wanted the children to write in a cursive style. This was a bit challenging for some to the children at first.
I like to help children become confident when they speak. I give plenty of praise to shy children that find talking in class difficult. I think group projects in design can really help children explain things clearly. Literacy spreads over all subjects of the curriculum. It is one of the most important things in a child's education in the UK.

I'm teaching English as a foreign language here in Thailand. It's very popular nowadays especially in Asia and other countries where English is not widely spoken. I'm also finishing my masters degree in TESOL, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. It's very challenging and rewarding. I'm not a native English speaker and I'm still learning the language myself. Though I grew up in the Philippines and English is the Second language still I found myself lost when I got here and exposed to other Englishes like British English, Australian English, American, European, Asian..with all the different accents. It's very important that you get to know and identify them. It's also fun.

I teach Computer Science at the university level. It is fun, but stay away from technical subjects if you are going to teach an intro course. You are bound to have many people who won't understand a thing, even among the basic notions. I don't know at what level you want to teach, but I am sure it must be interesting when you try to teach how to go from a chemical formula to the molecular structure when the class doesn't really care. I say become a teacher, it is a lot of fun! But either keep it really simple of try to teach only more specialized courses!

Now I am teaching English which is my major in college. Generally one have to be very good at his major if he want to be a teacher. However, I do not think I am good at English. Whatever, I have been working very hard. I fear not living up to stuents' expectations especially their parents. After all, it is not easy for them to afford the fees. In fact, I am worried about how to enhance my English. Every day I insist on reading and writing but it seems not to pay off.

i teach Psychology in college, since that is where i have my degree in... but i enjoy teaching English so much, especially Speech and Grammar.
these subjects are very challenging. Psychology doesnt follow a strict rule... you have theories to discuss, but the manner of interpretation can go from mild to extremes... English follows rules, especially in grammar and phonics.
