What is it when the power goes out at traffic lights that people just speed on through. Yesterday at an major busy intersection the power was out and people were speeding through it like at normal speed (80-100kms) and people on the other sides were trying to get across without getting rammed by these maniacs. Obviously these idiots think that when there is no visible traffic light it must mean they have right of way and they are just gonna power on through. Does this happen where you are and do you know of anyone that we can contact, i rang the police but they are too busy to come and deal with that.

That happens all the time, I really despise it! What's weird is that people do that down here, yet they don't know how to use a 4 way stop with stop signs instead of a signal. They'll just sit there and wave everyone through, yet they can't stop at a downed traffic light.

Hi, in this country you get fined heavily for going across traffic lights if they are on red, I must admit I'm one to put my foot down if I'm approaching and they are just changing, but I wouldn't go across one if it was already red when i got there!

do you by chance reside in pune? this exactly describes what happens in pune. the only solution is to have spikes coming out at the pedestrian crossing on red and amber lights. some may loose their life but as it is at least 4 people are dying in road mishaps everyday. this will teach people to stop on crossings. there is no other language but a slap in the face that a true indian would understand!

I think the traffic police should come and deal with such cases. Out here when the traffic lights go out due to any reason the traffic police are deployed to regulate the traffic till the lights are repaired. I think the police have been very irresponsible to this end and have actually failed to carry out their duty.
