This is one of the best and hit song of Barry...and the first line of the song has been used by many girls or boys falling in love with other while in a relationship. (how sad!)
I have to admit that once in my life i also used it - "We had the right love at the wrong time"
How about you???

Yup, I was once in a relationship like that. I was in a relationship when I fell in love for my best friend. But the thing is I was taken for granted by my boyfriend that time while my best friend of course, is being a great friend who's always there for me and he's really sweet that's why I fell for him without knowing that the feeling is mutual. That's why when the time came that we can't hold the feelings back anymore, there was nothing else to do but face the consequences of fighting for what we feel for each other. It wasn't easy but it's really worth it. We've been married for almost five years now.

Oh, uhm, we never really gave up even for just a few minute. But we did experienced lots of difficulties before especially when a lot of our friends got mad because we have this sircle of friends so everyone was like, affected by the whole situation and of course, we were the ones to blame. Sorry I focused more on the line, "We had the right love at the wrong time". But I'm really glad that we fought for it.

I think that all Barry Manilow songs can be related to at some time in our lives. My favorites are 'If I should Love again', 'Even now' and 'All the Time, these songs in my opinion are brilliant.
I prefer Barry singing his own ballads rather than the jazzy numbers that he sometimes sings. I've been lucky enough to see him when he came to England about ten years ago and would love to see him in Las Vagas.

our roads will cross again-- letting go means i love you some words i took out of the song so if it is love or friendship we've let that person go because of our love for them we set them free if it was meant i believe it would have been if not, no

Ahhh... if anyone who have really been in love or heartbreak and never heard of Barry Manilow, they ought to be living on the moon. I grew up listening to Barry's music due to my mom and love so many of them including this one.
I've never been in the situation before but through the song itself I can relate the feeling to someone who is. Fantastic lyris and such a simple melody which makes this song an evergreen in my book.
Another one of my all-time favorite song of Barry's is Who Needs To Dream made popular from the movie starring Barry himself... Copacabana! Now this song won me the heart of the love of my life when I sang it to her. Superbly meaningful lyrics once again!

This is my favorite Barry Manilow song because it is sad, yet hopeful at the same time. I think almost anyone can relate to this song because at one time or another we've all had the right love at the wrong time.

I really love this song it reminds me of my college years, falling in love with someone but not for the right time. And now I'm just enjoyed listening to imagine the sweet days with someone.

the best line for me is: 'letting go is just another way to say i love you so'... i think it's much to appropriate for a situation that i had been through years ago...

You know whenever i listen to that song, i could only sigh because of the message that it brings. "the right love at the wrong time" it always happen. However, in the song, in the middle part, it also brings hope that two people are really meant for each other. "Our roads are gonna cross again, it doesnt really matter when". Maybe not in this lifetime, perhaps in the next.
But generally, i like the song very much. Even the other songs of Barry Manilow
