i think yes.
and i also do this.
but i want to ask that u also reapond to his/her discussion with ur friend request to him/her?
i always respond to his/her 1 or 2 discussion with my friend request to him/her.
i think it makes a good impression to the person ,receieved ur friend request.and i also experinced that it is lucky for me.
would u do this with ur friend request as like me?

You are right. If you answer some of the person's discussions before extending a friend request, you will make that person more likely to accept your request. It is a simple goodwill issue and you will do just fine. ;-)

When I first came here to Mylot about 5 months ago, I did ask a few people to be my friend. Since then I have not had to ask anyone for frienship. I deny no one and so far none have been a disappointment. I have them all set to Notify On and that is how I answer all I can since every one of their discussions come to my email. I answer what I can and continue to until they pick a Best Response with hours and so then I skip them over for the day from then on. Friends should respond and with the culture differences that is not always possible. Good luck with the discussions you find to respond to and also create.

Up to now, I think I 've only sent one friend request. Maybe that's why I still have so few friends on mylot :):)
Anyway, I don't know, many times I see many interesting discussions posted by the same people, and answer to a few of their discussions but I never feel like sending them a friend request.
What I really try to do is to answer the more discussions possible of my existing friends. And hoping other people will send they to me a friend request, when they like my posts or for whatever reason

I try to respond to their discussions first like you, 1 or 2. And invite them to be my friend. But sometimes, unfortunately, they don't even accept your invitation or even noticed that you had made an effort to respond to their discussion. So as of now, I still do the same but I do invite others even if I haven't responded to their discussions yet. I just want to make friends. So I'm very happy when others accept me right away. ya u r right some times it happened but we should not left this good habit.becas i think that the no of response that u give to others r also effect the performance of ur discssion on the basis of response.so i think we should try to give responses to maximum our friends and more friend means cahnce of more response on ur discusssion.as i think.
