I usually spend more time to read posts and comments to various discussions than to participate in them. And, especially last week I visit daily mylot, I have started to have the feeling that I know some other users. I recognise their usernames, I have a quite clear opinion on their way of thinking, I feel familiar with the opinions they express and their interests.
Thinking about it, it's weird, they are people I will probably never know personally, they are not at my friendslist, we might not even participate in the same discussions. Does this happen to anybody else? do you start recognising other users whenever u see their posts, without even look at their profiles?

Yes, because by reading a person's post we get to understand his or her way of thinking, thereby understanding a bit of his or her character.
Of course it's not very accurate because we don't get to meet the person, we only read the post. Even so we can relate to someone who in one way or another we think has a similar mindset to ours.

I don't know, sometimes I think that, as users here answer in various and random subjects, sometimes you can see many aspects of their personality and way of thinking by browsing their posts. I agree it can never be the same like meeting the person, but I think that you can have a lot of information about them in few time

I do know people on my friends list pretty well as I respond much more to their discussions than responding to others when I have some extra time (just as I doing now).

There are regulars on MyLot who start discussions every day and then do alot of responding. You can start to predict what they may say on certain subjects. As an example,I often ask questions to the discussy to make a point or add to his/her thoughts. What I like is that 99 % of the time the responders are talking from the heart or thru experience. So keep discussing things and we will continue responding.
