What is the fundamental difference between men and women? And I mean psychologically. Sometimes it truly seems to me that Men and Women are two completely different species. Add that to the fact that everyone is born a female, does one chip off of an X chromosome really make that much of a difference?

I think that the main difference is that because women have children they are generally more aware of other peoples feelings and also want to help people more so they talk more as well. Men hide their feelings more because they don't need to emphathise because they aren't going to be so close to the children.

There is a huge amount of difference between men and women. The x chromosome turns on all sorts of switches that women don't have. For a while in the sixties it was thought men and women were basically the same. Time, and research, have shown that they aren't. (Not that we really needed research!) For a while it was thought you could nurture boys into doing things girls traditionally enjoyed doing and vice versa. But I have now have seven grandchildren, and the boys are very much boys, while the girls are very much girls. There's a world of difference. It was the same with our own kids, too. This isn't to say men can't be interested in things women are interested in, or vice versa. My wife is very much into tools and practical things - the sort of stuff often associated with men. I'm not, but I tend to focus on the art side of life. And, as a further point, I am VERY close to my children. Being a father doesn't make you any less close to them.
