As you noticed, I'm sure, you get your star when you reach 100 posts. It is called your myLot user reputation. It is how other users rate your discussions and responses; either + or -. It is based on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest. I usually rate most everyone a + unless they are breaking the rules. You can rate others as well, not only those that respond to your discussions, but also those discussions you respond to. You will see the plus and minus and exclamation(report to mylot admin) key to the right, under respond to this message or comment button. Just remember to be fair, and not rate someone a minus just because you disagree or don't like them. I only give - if the post breaks the rules of myLot or is abusive, or is just a yes or no answer. I hope I explained this well. If you have any more questions, I would be happy to answer if I can.

The stars, and the numbers in them, represent your rating as judged by other members. You should be getting one very soon as they appear after your 100th post.
