How far have you driven and how long did it take? This could be with overnight stops or without. Just so long as it's one journey.

From central Kansas to Rhode Island is the longest, I believe. It takes us three days. Of course we have stops. I love driving trips with my husband. It is one time we really pay good attention to each other.

We drove cross country several times, from the very top of New Hampshire to San Diego was probably the longest if you are talking mileage. It's nice if you have a large vehicle but I will never do it again in a four passenger car.

I used to drive a semi and had to make a couple of trips from Maine to California. I had a co-driver and it took about 3 days, including a couple of deliveries along the way.

I remember flying 5 hours with a stop in Toronto from Nova Scotia out to Edmonton Alberta.. renting a car and driving to Jasper (6 hour drive). With the time zones I was in the air or driving well over 15 hours. The next day I drove from Jasper to Williams Lake BC over the mountains - another 6 hours. Then it was to Vernon, BC.. 5 hours, and back to Calgary; another 9 solid hours through Rogers Pass.

We used to drive to Florida from Ohio every fall. That was a 19 hour drive taking turns. That way we had more time to visit once we got our sleep. The first time we went we did stay at hotels over the couple of days it took to drive that far. I don't remember the miles but traveling about 55 miles per hour and the 19 hours from Ohio down to Florida in the middle was the difference. We would only stop for gas, food, bathroom break.

I've driven 20 hours straight before. When my husband got stationed in Gulfport Mississippi, I drove down from Pennsylvania. Once we did it after our son was born. He was 2 months old and he was the best traveler ever! We made that trip many times. Sometimes we stopped in Knoxville Tenn. as that is where my husband's mom lives and she was half way between Gulfport and all our family in Pennsylvania! So it made it nice. Just depended on how long leave was to how long we stayed in each place.

We drove from California to Florida once, which is about 3000 miles. With alternating drivers, and a pit stop every time we changed drivers, it took about 3 days. It was a lot easier for us because we had no small children in the car. We were meeting another family who were doing the same thing as us, but they had small children. It took them a total of 5 days for their trip. Even though it took them 2 days longer, I still think that was no small feat to travel clear across the country with small children in the car, in only 5 days.

Must be Salles-Curan in France, that was a journey of about 1100km. It was without overnight stop, and we did that in 11 hours. We stayed at the camping there for 2 weeks.

The furthest I have driven was last Thanksgiving ..Driving from west virginia to my folks home town in Mauston Wi..and my brothers place in Elroy Wisconsin..Since I drive like gramma molly ..I had to stop and what should have been done in one day ..I had to break up in two days each way.. I was the only driver and have a severe stigmatism..so my eyes tire from focusing for so long a stretch..I will say the drive was well over 1000 miles.. both ways.. Thanks be to God we arrived to and from in one piece and the hotel stays only cost me one paycheck!! :)+

The furtherest I have driven in in one hit, is up the Strezlecki track. It took me 11 hours. I had a 4 wheel drive but I still got bogged. I am not sure how far it is, but I think around 1000 ks. I went to Inaminka, & left from Port Augusta. I was by myself. I loved it.

The furthest I ever drove was from Michigan where I live to a friend's home in Oklahoma. I was seven months pregnant and had 3 small children in the car. That was an interesting trip, and seemed to take a lot longer than it actually did. Anyway, between bathroom brakes and doctor's orders for breaks not to sit in a car too long, we had to stop every hour or two all the way there and back.

The farthest I have driven is back home to Pennsylvania, which is close to 500 miles. It takes 9 to 10 hours depending on traffic and how often you stop. It seems long, but so worth it to see my loved ones.
