The other day I was going out so I got in the car to start it and I could not get it in gear. I was getting so mad. I called my husband at work and told him to come home. What a fool I am I did not put my foot on the brake to change gear I felt so stupid. I mean this is an automatic thing to do what was I thinking. My husband told our friends about this and guess what he had done this once also except he is a mechanic and ended up taking every thing apart until his wife ask him did you try putting your foot on the brake? I had a big belly laugh over this. How can a person forget to do such a simple thing?

I have had a similar problem with my car. I oculdn't get it into reverse and I thought there was something wrong with it. What I had forgotton was that you had to lift something on the car as well as move the gear lever to get it into reverse. My ex kept laughing at me and wouldn't let me forget it for weeks.

Thats funny. I have never done that yet but im sure i will some day. But i do have a stupid moment to share......I started my car and noticed the low gas light on so i went to get gas first thing. Well i put about 3 cents in a the pump stopped so i moved to a new pump and the gas would just pump out on the ground. So after like 4 tries i called my man and told him about it. I didnt want to drive cause i was out of gas. He started laughing because he knew i needed the car so he filled the tank for me. Turns out all the lights come on when you start the car including the low gas light. Did i ever feel stupid i was trying to fill a full tank.

we all silly things , I think what matters most is you can laugh about it , years ago my mum put the empty milk bottle on the bedside cabinet and the alarm outside the front door for the milkman , it was when she looked for the time and noticed the empty bottle she realized , that must have been over 60 years ago and we still laugh about it , proves you are human , when I do something silly I always tell the family I was just testing to see if they had noticed lol xx

Yes it is really funny how some silly little thing can still make us laugh years later, I remember back when my friend and I were 16 and we came home late to her moms house, we had some sandwiches and went to bed. In the morning we hear her mom yelling up at us who put the roll of sausage in the drawer and the knife in the fridge. We still laugh about this.

Just a little brain hiccup.. LOL! We all do it. When I do something like that I just stop and think of Occam's Razor. It is almost inevitably something simple I've overlooked. It usually is and then I feel like a complete idiot.

LOL! It sounds like a blonde joke. It's funny how we can forget to do the most simple things. At least it was an easy fix. lol

I have done something similar so don't feel bad!! We were living in an apartment and luckily my husband was home, but I was trying to leave for work (at 6am) and I couldn't get the car in gear either...I tried and tried and didn't know what was wrong. So I go upstairs almost crying because I am so frusterated and my husband goes down to my car and says "Well the emergency break is on". I felt so stupid, I never use the emergency break so he had done it the day before.....who wouldn't notice that though?? ME!!! hee hee

Well for one thing bkfuels I think we are living with so much stress in our lives these days we don't even realize it anymore. You may think that buying the house was a good thing in your life but that in it's self is a form of stress and I'm sure there's other stuff happening in your life, like maybe the sale of your cats etc. Stress doesn't have to always mean something real bad but simply a form of stress. Hang in there girlfriend you'll get a chance to get even with hubby, it just may take some time. LOL
