yes I keep a diary and I have for over 25 years and at this time I have all mine in a locked box from the last 5 years because ever 5 or 6 years I burn them so that they dont fall into the wrong hands, there is stuff in them that I just cant let someone else see or read ever.

I used to write diary when I was in my school. It was really fun and I realised a change in myself which was for good. I dont write diaries anymore cuz of lack of time but I would love to do that if I get time.

I write my diary all the time, it helps me vent when I find no other way. I can write down all what I feel without having to worry about hurting anyone with my words. I do keep it in a safe place beyond anybody's reach so I don't have to fear anyone reading it. Most of the time I write when I'm very upset, angry or frustrated..it helps a lot. I instantly feel better because I've let out my hard feelings.

I keep a diary but I only write in them when I am depressed. I am always very glad when I flip back and see that my last entry was a long time back. This means I have not been depressed for quite a while. So I try not to have to turn to writing in my diary - because that would mean I am very depressed. :P

I don't write in a diary, I pray. I agree, that it could be dangerous to write it down, as someone could come across it and invade on your personal feelings.

because i dont like keeping grudges..
and fond memories i dont forget.
i dont make enemies.. and i forgive and forget them immediately.. but i also dont put my foot on the axe so i remember who not to trust.

I use to write in a diary nearly on a daily basis when I was younger. I mainly put in it things I didn't know how to express openly and it did help a little with keeping my emotions in order. And it helped to keep things becoming in what seemed to be over whelming from building up.
I don't write in one anymore, since I now know how to express my feelings when they arise openly. In some ways I think having the diary helped, but not all the way. Life in general has a way of teaching us things and making us stronger in its own little way.

I used to keep a diary when I was much younger, but I find it was a chore to keep writing in it. I've got a livejournal now, it's nicer. I still tend to keep things private, but I don't feel like I strongly have the need anymore to put my emotions down on paper.

I used to write a diary. I would write in it every night, before I went to bed. For awhile it was just a way to describe what I did day to day, but eventually I started writing my feelings down. I was dating a guy for over a year and we had a lot of ups and downs and thats where the diary came in handy the most. Instead of screaming at him, I would just write in my diary. After a long couple months of constant fighting, I met someone else and I started to write about him in my diary. I would talk about how he made me feel and eventually I talked about what we did together. Well, the diary turned out to be the way, my boyfriend found out I was cheating on him. I found him reading it one day when I got out of the shower. It was wrong for him to read it, but it was wrong for me to kiss another guy. So to sum this up, I'd say a diary can be a great way to rationalize your feelings and thoughts, but make sure if you don't want someone to read it, you lock it up!

i used to write diaries when i was younger. then skip one day, after awhile skip two or three days. finally i didn't write anymore. but when i read it back recently, some pages made me smile, and some pages made me just wanna scream. it does make one emotional, and do bring those memories back.

The purpose of a Diary is to vent our emotions into it. It helps us to connect our life piece by piece so we could better know and understand ourselves and how we could carry ourselves when a need arises. I only write to my diary when I feel so low or angry or if nobody understands what I'm going through. It helps me to get rid of all the negative energy that could otherwise compromise my health and my sanity.

i used to write a diary when i was a teenager. a lot of fun stuff happened at that time so everyday i got a lot of things to write about. the good thing with diary is that u can write whatever u want in it. u can be mad at someone, write your feeling in a diary and it will go away.

I have been writing personal journals since I was 12. I am 42 now and still do it. For me it has been a great channel of motivation and self-knowledge. I have looked back and realized the changes in my life through the years. It has been satisfying to see my growth in all aspects of my life. I fully recommend to start this practice.
