Do you take actual vacations or just stay home for your "vacation" time?

I've never been a big vacation taker. I tend to stay home for my vacations and perhaps drive someplace for the day or something.

Sometimes I go away for vacation and sometimes I stay home for a week and relax and do things around the house or spend time with family and friends. I just got back from Texas earlier this evening and had a wonderful time with my family. The weather was so-so but had fun and wish that I could have stayed longer. It all depends if I can afford to go away on vacation. If I can afford to go somewhere, I will go. You can also just go out of town to another city close by for a break.

Every summer we try to go away for a vacation . It is always to visit family or friends in which we don't get to see very often . All my close family lives away and so does my best friend . So each year we make a trip out to go visit with some of them , usually for a week and the children get to see their cousins and grandparents , Aunts and Uncles and friends that they don't talk to all year long too , so they enjoy this time as well . Where we go is only about four to six hours away but it still seems so much different because they all live in the city or close by the city where we are strictly in the county , so it makes it nice to go shopping where things are much cheaper then we can find them for and the variety is so much larger :)

Summer time I stay at home, enjoying close by lake and forest to the fullest. Winter time would like to travel somewhere warm for couple of weeks, but haven't done that as often as I would like. I have also "hockey vacation" when I go and watch ice hockey world champinships, if it's not at the other side of the world.

Now THAT is my kind of vacation! LOL We do one "hockey vacation" a year too when we go to the Gretzky Women's Hockey Tournament to play. We spend 3 days there and just enjoy shopping, drinking, and tons of hockey!

Same here. I too do n't like to go for long vacations. When i was a child, i went with my uncle {Mother's brother} on their home on summer vacation but as i've become senior student now & have to join acedmy or have to study from my tutors on my vacations so, i do n't go to tours now. I seldom go for tours now but go only on special occasions e.g. marraiges etc.

We do both. Jason and I love going places, but its been hard with our older fur baby, Grandma used to watch him but since he is a bit harder to watch now she doesn't as much. But thankfully she is going to watch him in May for us...thank goodness. We haven't gone anywhere since January 2006. Normally we go yearly somewhere for a week or whatever, so this is so exciting and I am looking forward to it more and more. Anyway...lol So yes we do both, but lately its just been the staying home thing. Usually jason will take some vacationt time and I'll still get kids, but it works out.

I love to travel but for several reasons I am unable to do so much anymore. I used to love long car rides. I went on a vacation for two weeks once where I drove from Canada to Texas and then to Florida, staying one week in each of those two states. Then we drove home through the eastern coastal states, so we had made a huge circle. I have been on a plane to Colorado and Manitoba and Africa. I have also been on car vacations to almost all the eastern coastal states.

I never stay at home for my vacation but I don't travel too far either. My best friend lives in London in the UK so I like to split my vaction into three so that I can visit her more often. I travel by car ferry to Holyhead and then spend a few days sightseeing en route to London. After a week, I take a different route back to the ferry so that I can visit some more interesting places.

I actually took a long vacation when I stopped for a while on my studies, t'was on a province from my mother's side and it took me for almost 4 months to stay in there. As for out-of-town and summer vacations, it usually takes me for about 3 days to spend it. Because I always look for a quiet place to have a peaceful relaxation, a quiet place to reflect and get rid of stress from work. I do enjoy it most of the times, and I always wished that we could've stayed more longer..

We use to take long trips to visit the relatives, but my mother-in-law passed away last year. This year with the high price of gasoline its not likely we will be doing any traveling. We might be moving in 2008, so must cut our expenses this year, as moving can be costly.

Usually we go to visit family, but visiting my parents and taking them shopping or cleaning the freezer or the gutters really is not a vacation. About 10 years ago, we did go to Disney.

We used to go camping quite a bit for vactions when my kids were young. But, as for an actual vacation, neither my hubby nor I had ever had one, until December of last year when we went to Las Vegas for six days. We had a blast. It was heaven for both of us.

I don't even remember that i have ever spent any summer vacations staying at home.It seems that vacations are vital for me.And vacations are important for everyone because living months at a same place makes life dull and boring so for a change vacations are vital
