Kids run over in driveways.

Here in Australia there seems to me a spate of young children getting run over by their parents in their own driveways. I don't know whether it's because there are a lot more SUV's around now, which are harder to see out when reversing or what. It must be absolutely horrific for this to happen to any parent. I always make sure that my son is in the car with me before even starting it, or at least inside with the door locked.

Well i think that is very sad. However i have to wonder why these parents let their children run around when they are pulling out of their driveways. Why do they not make sure they can see their children first?

It is so sad. I also wonder whether life has become so busy for some people that they forget the simple things in life.Even after coming home from somewhere with my wife and son, I stop,open the shed and wait until they are at the door to the house before driving into the shed. Maybe that's a bit obsessive, but hey, I won't change it for anyone.
