I have never won more than $5.00 in the lottery but I don't play very often. My husband likes to play but he never checks his tickets. If I check it and it's a winner, I am going to claim it as my own. LOL

If my husband didn't check ours, I'd do the same thing. But he does check them and then tells me if we hit anything, so I don't have to worry about that. LOL.

I did not try lotteries. Do you like to try. I found some shops nearby my house selling lottery tickets. But I think they are only for small amounts like $10-$100 etc. They are not worth to give my emotion and time.

Many people feel like you do, and I can understand that.

My husband came running down the hall one Sunday morning and nearly dragged my wet naked butt out of the shower. Once dried and wrapped in a bathrobe I followed him down the hall to the computer room, all the way he was asking how many numbers we needed. Well, we won the lottery, but not enough to call the boss and sing that old country tune to. We won $40.

That's about how excited my husband gets whenever we hit something. He's the eternal optimist and always plays a few dollars on the lottery on Wednesday and Saturday. It would be nice if we ever hit it big.

I won $54 once when I had 4 out of 6 numbers (or maybe it was 3 out of 6). The problem was 5000 other people also had 4 out of 6 numbers. But it was still exciting.

From scratch offs the most I ever won was $25, from weekly lotto I won a whole $5 once. My sister has done a lot better with it. With the weekly she's won the 4 digit a few times and that pays around $80 and she's really lucky at the scratch offs. As you can tell from my winnings I'm not lucky.

My husband has much better luck than I do, but he's having a very long dry spell now. Maybe this year will be better for him and for you.

Oh Claudia almost 30 years ago I did win $501.00 in the lottery and it really made my day. We were farming then and the industry was in a real slump, so this was going to be a nice bonus for us. Problems arose when I deposited the cheque into our bank account as we were operating on an overdraft. Bank Manager took the lot and then allowed me to draw a cheque for $480 to pay for our water bill which was due a few days later. So much for the win. LOL

Sounds like the luck I'd have. At least you got your water bill paid. LOL

That's the only way you CAN win...by playing. I wish you luck when you do. My husband and I each won $150 when we were in a lottery pool where I used to work, and my husband also won $2,000 on a lottery scratch-off ticket. It's been years since we've won anything though.

I won $500 once on a scratch ticket. That was the most that I have even won in any type of lottery. I won't complain, but I am pretty sure that I am due up again for another winner soon! LOL

I have won a little bit here and there, but not as much as I've probably spent! My brother won $1,000 once playing Keno (his first time playing!!). I like to play though, it's fun. I don't play that often though, it's not convenient to buy the tickets. We have a special drawing in our state for New Years Eve. The ticket is $20, they're only selling a limited number of tickets and there are so many guaranteed winners - it's more like a raffle than a lottery. I should buy a ticket....

We're having a drawing like that in Florida also on New Year's Eve. My husband bought a ticket. LOL. Like he says, you sure can't win if you don't play.

I used to run a lottery pool at my old work. Every week my co-workers would give me $2 and I played the numbers for the group of us. We would regularly win $5 here, a free ticket there, and I would put the money back into the pot.
So one week we got 5 numbers out of the 6. It worked out to over 5,000.
We had a practice of going out for lunches together on Fridays at a nearby restaurant. That week as we sat around the table I handed everybody an overstuffed envelope with their name on it. When they asked me what it was for, I told them it was the lottery winnings for the week. You should have seen their faces when they ripped the envelopes open and found them packed full of $20 and $50 bills.
I loved being able to do that. Best part was that it was late summer and a few people had just come home from holidays so they were able to pay off their bills with the cash.

Great story. I handled our lottery pool where I used to work also. We had 24 of us that put in $5 per week. One week we hit $3,800. The good news? Both my husband and I were in the pool, and we each got a share. I love stories like this. We hit in October, so we had Christmas early.

I have never won a lottery. I think the chances of winning is slim. Thats why i never buy lottery tickets. I always wonder if the whole world doesn't buy lottery ticket except one person, is he going to get 1 millions dollars as they said they would? or it's going to be cancelled.

It would depend on whether that person had the winning numbers or not. It's based on a particular set of winning numbers that are drawn at a specified time. It's not like a raffle where someone is going to win. Thanks for responding.

I have never played the lottery consistently, so I have never won more than a few dollars here and there. I forget to get tickets, even when the jackpot is really high. It's a good thing, I guess, because I would probably be compulsive.
I LOVE Vegas, too. And no, I have never won there, either!

I've never been to Vegas, but we have Seminole Indian casinos here in our area. It's a good thing we can't afford to go often, because I sure could become addicted to it. I only know if we hit anything on the lottery if my husband tells me. I don't even think of buying tickets today. Thanks for your response.
