Linux Fans: Next Apple Mac OS to be based on linux

Mac in an announcement said that their next OS would be based on Linux kernel. I am not sure how true this news is. Here is the link to the news article http://www.linux.org/news/LO2007/mac_kernel.html. Hopefully it comes true:)

I think it is totally a joke by Jobs coz the recent kernel of Mac OS X is based on Unix not linux.It be chanllengable for Apple to make such a switch.

Heh. It is either a clever joke or jobs has gotten a larger sense of humor. On the other hand, Mac is actually using a unix kernel. unix is basically the same thing as linux kernel from an outside view, albeit completely different in the nitty gritty fun parts.
