How long did it take you to lose your baby weight?

When I had my 3 kids, thankfully I didn't gain too much weight. The weight I did gain just showed on my stomach, "of course", and my buns and thighs. So for me, after each kid it took probably about 6 months to get to a comfortable weight again. The only thing that bothers me now is a little tummy that just won't go away but you would never know I had one with my clothes on. Have any of you ever worked on doing sit-ups & gotten rid of that tummy? I've tried it but I guess I haven't really gotten rid of it because I always start but than give up and never stick to it. How long did it take you to lose your weight after your babies, or are you still working on it?

It took me longer with my first baby I weighed 165 and went down to 130 in 4 mths. With my second baby I lost all my weight within 3 weeks I went from 143 pounds to 125.

7 pounds of it was the baby. After I delivered the baby I weighed 130. I think that nursing burned all of those calories. I ate the way I normally ate. I did not go on a diet or workout.

Yes neither did I put on much weight while having my babies, and my weight was the same as you. Oh for me it took around 3 months, as I did not put on that much weight really as I used to do a lot of walking while I was pregnant as they say that if you do this then it helps during the delivery time of the baby.

I actually lost weight for the first seven months of my pregnancy and then I gained about 25 pounds. I was heavy to begin with. After my daughter was born I weighted 234 pounds, before she was born I weighed about 215. Six months after she was born I was down to 157 pounds. Yes I still have the tiny stomach that you are referring too and honestly I don't think I will ever get rid of it.

I know, almost seems impossible to get rid of that tummy sometimes doesn't it? That's the only thing that really drives me nuts about my body, lol. So you actually lost more weight than before you had her? Not bad! I haven't even weighed myself in sooo long. I know though with up to my last child I went up to 165. Before I had my first I was only 115. So I think now I'm probably around 145 but who knows, maybe one of these days soon I will weigh myself again. Thanks for responding.

My good friend struggled with her weight for a while and was very successful losing it. We created a blog focusing on women's health. I trust this will inspire and help you & others. Take care and good luck. http://WomensHealthMadeEasy.blogspot.com As a former personal trainer, you need to focus on diet and cardio exercise. Ab exercise will help but do not put all your eggs in that basket. Diet and cardio is KEY!

I know what you mean-it's easy to give up; especially when you have three kids to distract you. I used a book called Callanetics years ago-did 150 crunches each day for six weeks. I broke them up into sets of 50. I thought I'd die for the first week-but after six weeks, I had a nice flat and hard belly. In fact, I think that's how I ended up with my fourth child. LOL

i have 2 kids my 2nd child is 18 months old and i still havent got my figure back to how it was before. i also am not fat but do carry most my weight around my stomach and hips. i joined a gym a month ago and have lost half a stone already and my stomach is much flatter but still not flat enough. the best exercise you can do for your stomach is cardiovascular. sit ups only tone the muscle under the fat you have to burn the fat off and tone up in between. hope this helps

Well thanks for that advice, maybe that's why my sit-ups haven't worked. I've wanted to join a gym to get more toned because now everything feels like it just jiggles, even if I'm not overweight, lol. Hopefully pretty soon when my kids get a little older or I can get a babysitter, thanks!
