What do you think about the "hunger strike" for Sanjaya?

In case you haven't heard, some people are doing a "hunger strike", claiming they are starving themselves and not eating at all until Sanjaya is voted off the show. What do you think about this? I think it's utterly ridiculous and a stupid thing to do. And also, it might encourage people to vote for Sanjaya MORE just to keep those people starving (cruel, I know).

I don't know how accurate this is, but I've heard from radio, internet, and word-of-mouth, that people are doing something like "mass-calling" for the underdog. If everyone I hear from doesn't like Sanjaya, then it's possible by popular demand, he should have not made it to the top 24. When we started voting, if the rumors are true, then all along there has been "mass-voting" for Sanjaya. If people have phones set up to redial the same number, and they get their friends, pretty soon, their votes are overwelming. Giant conspiracy. I admit, last night I voted 10 times each for everyone except Sanjaya, just to be sure that my votes get counted.

Thank you for your comment. Thanks also for putting a name to the cheaters. I was trying to tell my friends about it but I couldn't remember. Anyway, it figures somebody would mess it up for everybody else.

It's true. It's from this website called Vote for the Worst. Which I think is really silly... It defeats the whole purpose of the show and ruins it for people, the watchers AND the contestants. Some good people have gotten voted off when it should have been Sanjaya's time to go (LONG ago!).
Thanks for your reply. :)

I think it's rather crazy! Who would want to starve themselves over somebody on a tv show? I really have to wonder about people when I hear stories like this one...

to each their own but that is a stupid way to politic. There is far worse things to fight for than kicking a average singer off th program. They can't kick himoff just vote him off.

I think that's carrying it a little too far. I, like a lot of people think he should have been voted off long ago, but to go as far as starving yourself until he is, is taking your dislike for him from the ridiculous to the sublime. I believe the ones who are willing to do this, have made American Idol an obsession, rather than a form of entertainment and enjoyment. It just goes to show how far some people will go in their dislike for someone.I find this very sad and extremely distructive.

that is ridiculous really. i still have faith on AI bcoz if you will look back and see who became winners they all have what it takes to become an AMERICAN IDOL starting from Kelly. i think the only reason why sanjaya is still in for the reason that he needs to be there for popularity reasons. bad or good publicity is still publicity and more and more people around the globe watches american idol because of curiosity of what sanjaya will do next week.

I agree! I don't think Sanjaya will win but I still hate it that better singers are voted off before him when I think he deserves to go. But yes, I've also found myself wondering before the show: "I wonder what crazy thing Sanjaya will do this time..."
Thanks for the response.

I say I'm hungry and I don't care about Sanjaya enough to starve.

I think there will be a lot of hungry people..lol That is rather rediculous. I really haven't been following the show but I think he won't make it to be the winner. People are so strange sometimes...who really cares if they eat or they don't? They will probably just keep him longer for the publicity.

I agree.
Sometimes it bothers me though because Sanjaya is the weakest/one of the weakest performer week after week, and other, more talented contestants are voted off when he should be the one to go. I hope he is gone soon. =/
Thanks for your response!

People in America need to do this more often, because most of the Americans that watch American Idol are fat and lazy. They sit on YouTube all day claiming how they are going to do this hunger strike thing... you know what? Go right ahead! ;)
