I need to make some money to help supplement my husbands income. I have thought about using a drop shipper, but I do not know anything about it. Does anyone use a drop shipper? What are the pros and cons? Are there certain companies I should avoid? Any info would be great. Thanks.

I have bought and sold many things on ebay, from coupons and baby clothes to cars and homes. To be honest, if you are new to ebay, the best way to start is by selling what you have in your home. You would be surprised just how much money you can get for the junk in your home. If you would sell it at a garage sale, sell it on ebay. Not only will you get much more money for it, you will also declutter your home.
That is exactly the way I started out years ago and still do that more than anything else. There is a buyer for everything on ebay, seriously! I did try for a short time, using a dropshipper but I had the same problems as were mentioned earlier in the discussion. The competition is fierce with common dropship items and I couldn't make a dime. There a lot of so called "dropshippers" out there that are total scams and rip offs. In order to be successful at wholesaling, you have to skip the middleman and most of the so called dropshippers are the middlemen just trying to make money off from you. Furthermore, there are a lot of ebooks that you can buy that supposedly reveal wholesale sources. I advise you not to fall into that trap. Do your own research, I have purchased these and they dont tell you anything you cant find yourself (for the most part). In fact, most of them lead you to the sources you don't want anyway!
One great tip to try, one that I use all the time, is to pick up things at garage sales and then turn around and sell them. You can also get things for free off from freecycle and sell them, I do that all the time! Once you start doing it, you will get an eye for what sells and what doesn't. Ebay likes to nickle and dime you so I dont usually bother selling items for a buck or two, it's not worth the time or energy. If I can't at least come out with $5 profit, it's not worth my time.
I don't know what kind of things you have to sell, but kids clothes do very well, as do maternity. If you can find them at garage sale cheap, you can make a good profit. Antiques and old books are always good ones too.
Once you list a few things from your home and sell them you will be hooked. That is by far the best place to start. If you would like any other advice let me know, add me to your friends list, I'd be glad to help you out anytime.

Thanks for all this information I was eagerly looking forward to start drop shipper business.I will take all these things in consideration and do my home work. But I must say this is really good source of passive income. I found few wholesaler web address but I am still gathering more info about them before starting my business.

I belonged to SMC at the time I was selling a bit on ebay. The big draw back is...if you offer an item to sell, you need to have it in your possession and be able to send it as soon as the auction is over with. I happened to sell something the company was out of and it caused quite a bit of mess...I was lucky the buyer was really understanding.

I tried Eby and failed miserably. I used a drop-shipper, and ran into the difficulty mentioned above. There were others selling the exact sameites as me, and charging just enough to turn a profit. I couldn't charge more, or else it wouldn't sell. Then even if your item does not sell, Ebay still charges you listing fees which work as a percentage of what you were selling the item for. What you really need to get is a good wholesaler if you plan on making any kind of money at all.
