GREAT ADVICE FROM BUSTER MY BEAGLE!! If a dog was the teacher you would learn stuff like: When loved ones come home, always run to greet them. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy. When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.! Let others know when they've invaded your territory. Take naps. Stretch before rising. Run, romp, and play daily. Thrive on attention and let people touch you. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. On warm days, stop to lie on your back in the grass. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree. When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body. No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout .Run right back and make friends. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough. Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!

Thanks so much for this Grandpa Bob, and you too Buster. I can relate to each of the points, and sometimes wish life could be lived with the simplicity, loyalty, and unconditional love, that we receive from our beloved pets. I especially like the 'Avoid biting when a simple growl will do' one. I know many people (including myself at times) who could benefit from this very sound advice. We all should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses' too.

Well your beagle has some good advice. If only life were so simple for humans. My dalmations advice might be: When humans are ignoring you, tear everything up, especially the clothes on the line. When you are not getting enough walks : Poo on the lawn, especially underneath the clothes line. When not enough balls are supplied : Rip the fruit off the trees!

Did you just make that up? That is really good! Deep thoughts there. When I was little I had a small puppy that taught me a great lesson: Dont jump over a bank if you arent sure whats on the other side. He was chasing a duck & ran over the top of a hill. There was a pond on the other side & (we didnt know this at the time but soon learned it) apparently the little bugger couldnt swim. My little puppies that I have now taught me, if you are small, dont tackle a big dog alone. Wait for the cat to back you up. Yeah, my cat is bigger then my dogs. If a big dog is bothering them, she will come out of now were & start clawin away. IF you have any more of these deep thoughts, please post them. I LOVE reading them!

Oh my goodness, I never thought of it this way but I would say many people I know need to take some lessons from their dogs. The world would be a much better place to live and there would certainly be a lot less stress. I'm saving this for future reference.

This is great Grandpa Bob! We could really learn a lot from a dog. Gosh! now I'm thinking that they could be actually a lot wiser that us humans. If we just do those things that dogs do, I guess we will have lesser misunderstandings and bad feelings and will have better relationship just like the dog and his master.

And animals are the best judge of character, if they ever freak out about someone... they are NO GOOD! We learned this a long time ago when my cat FREAKED out about a friend of my husbands came over, the dude ended up really screwing us! So never go against your pets reaction to someone and if it ever happens, you will know because they really do freak out!

that is really a great advice from buster... thanks for sharing them with us grandpa bob... we sure can learn lots of valuable things from here... if only human beings can be as simple as dog, then i think this world will definitely be a better place to live in... unfortunately, we can't... because human's lives are much more complicated than dogs... but we sure can learn couple of things from your dog's advice... once again, thank you and have a nice day...

Your beagle does know how to enjoy life as a dog. We must learn to do some of those he mentioned. I wonder though how to wag my body...LOL!!! Maybe I'll let my bunny do that for me. :0

Very good advice, Buster. Now Shady wants to add to one of them. On hot days, go down to the creek and lay in it then come back dripping wet and ask to come into the house where the A/C is on.

Hi to a fellow beagle lover. we were looking for a family dog when we took our sons to see "cats and dogs" the movie. the star was a beagle named Louie and our boys decided that would be their ideal dog. hence we now have a beagle called, you guessed it, Louie :) He may not be as smart as his famous namesake but we love him to bits. and youre right, we can learn a lot from our dogs. in fact i think if more humans shared some of their finer characteristics the world may be a better place.

Buster is very handsome and wise! This is very true, if we were more pure in feeling like our pets I am sure we would not be in some of the situations we get into. I have learned yet again from a pet!
