Ceiling fans....how many are in your house?

How many ceiling fans do you have in your house? We have one in every room, except the bathrooms. We have 11 in our house. The only thing I don't like about them is cleaning them! I get out the ladder and clean the blades with damp paper towels.

I love ceiling fans! We have one in every room except the bathroom also. We have them on the outside porch! Have you tried the new Pledge Dusters to clean your ceiling fans? I use them and they make cleaning so much easier.

No I haven't tried them. I do have the Swifter Dusters which I like but they get expensive when you have so many to clean.

Wow! That's a lot of blades to clean. We have 3. One in each bedroom and one in the living room. We have a lot of dust around here, so I get a lot of built up fibers on the edges, so I will usually do a two step process. Hubby got me a vacuum with the long hose & brushes. I use the brushes to knock off any chunks and they get sucked right into the vacuum instead of onto the floor (the old way). I have found Mr Clean's Magic Eraser makes quick work of wiping down all the individual blades too. For me, the two step process works better than having all the debris get into my carpet. I think it's making an improvement with my seasonal allergies too. :)

We have 2 really nice ceiling fans on our porch. Last year we had a big porch added to the front of our house and my we had the ceiling fans put in. They have bamboo type blades on them. They are really nice and makes the porch look good. We do take them down during the winter months so they don't get damaged.

Right now, we have 3 working ceiling fans, in the kitchen, dining room, and living room. I just bought a new one for our bedroom. We wanted to put one in the kids' room too, but the ceiling won't hold it, as whoever added on that room did a real crummy job, plus my kids' bunk bed is in the way. All of our ceiling fans are the ones with the light fixtures attached, so double the work of cleaning them. One thing I have discovered that is kind of neat are these little filters that you attach to the top of the blades. They are supposed to cut down on the dust on the fans and in that room that the fan is in. I think that they really work.

You're welcome :) And thank you for the tip about the filters. We have a Walmart near us and I will look for them there. I'm at Walmart every weekend.

Thank you so much for the best response! I found those filters at Walmart, if you live close by one. Either in the same section that the ceiling fans are sold, or in the section where they sell the air conditioner/heating filters.

we have one. I saw a good one during garage sale but didn't get it since the house is small so one should be OK. it's hot I like it now, but my husband doesn't so he uses this a lot, cheaper than AC

We have 4 in our house and sad to say, I don't think I have given them a real good cleaning since I moved it. Looking at one of them now, I see it is in desperate need of it. But because of my fear of heights I don't think I will ever be able to clean them. Maybe I can pawn the job off as a punishment when my son does something wrong lol.

We have three ceiling fans in my house. One in the living room, family and master bedroom. Our guest bedroom could really use one but we will not be putting one in. We just don't use that room often enough. Yes, I agree they are a pain to clean. A damp cloth is really the best option other wise you disburse dust all over the room trying to wipe it off.

We don't have any ceiling fans in our apartment. When I lived in a house, briefly, we had one in our bedroom, but none of the other rooms of the house. Cleaning them is difficult, and I also can never remember which way you are meant to have to blades spin, depending on the season.

you know something, I don't have any ceiling fans at home! All the rooms use air conditioning.. not that we turn them on 24-7. But that's just the way the house was built. i know i know, it's bad for the environment.. but what can i say? i didn't build it. :( but i do prefer ceiling fans.. air-cons make my sinusitis worse.

We have 3 ceiling fans in our house. One is in the kitchen, one is in the dining room, and one is in our bedroom. We don't use them very much but do enjoy them to move the air around in the summer.

We have 5 of them in the house- I only use 1 of them. I agree they are a major pain to clean! I also don't think they work well- I use the stand-up fans mostly. I sleep with a fan on year round- My daughter too. Bad habit I started- We use box fans for our rooms but have ceiling fans in both. I'm just not big on them-- They were here when we bought the house- I'm thinking of taking the one out of the kitchen and putting up a decorative light,

We have central air conditioning so we don't really have a need for fans. We do have an enclosed 'Florida room' which has two fans, as of yet there is no air/heat to that room so the fans are sorely needed!
