Do you send your kids to church even if you don't agree with organized religon?I am a christian, but have a problem with "man's" church and ways of honoring GOD.I want my kids to have a healthy knowledge of all types of worship.Am I wrong?

If you think the church is wrong, then why send them to learn about god from someone who's views you don't share? Don't get me wrong I am not saying you are wrong, but I think you need to examine the reasons why you feel the need to allow others to indoctrinate your children into a belief system you feel at odds with.

My kids go to church with me. Just my two cents here, but I think that telling kids they can basically just make up whatever religion they want is wrong-headed, and it promotes narcissism. On top of that, that kind of do-it-yourself religion is by definition "mad-made" to the nth degree without even the benefit of any spiritual tradition.

No one said making up their own religion, but rather that the children not be indoctrinated and be allowed to make up their mind about religion on their own. Would you disown your children if later in life they decided Islam was the one true religion, or Wiccan instead of Christianity?

I dont go to church since I'm not Christian so in our house its a nonissue but also I dont force them to go nor do I allow anyone to force them to go when they are visiting family (like when they visit their grandparents for example who are devoted churchgoers)...If they WANT to thats fine but its not a must....when we go back home and i visit the Buddhist Temple I dont force them to come with me, if they WANT TO thats fine they are more than welcome and I'd enjoy it but its not a must...

in my opinion, your children should choose their own beliefs. why should they believe in something that later will not. any way you are right "man's" religion is stupid, silly and ... nothing at all

No I dont think you are wrong i also have problems with organised religion as Jesus himse;f once said in Matthew 15:3 Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? as for going to church sitting in a church no more makes one a Christian than sitting in a garage will make you a car !

i dont think there is a right or wrong to this..i think everyone has to do what they feel is right for their family...i love our Church we do so many great things in our town..my daughter loves going to Church and youth group and hopefully that will stay with her through those tough teenage years...
