What do you see when you look at my avatar?

The eye can be a deceptive thing along with personal feelings what is the first thing you see when you look at my avatar? Do you see good or do you see evil? If we see what we want to see what does it say about us if the first thing we see is evil? Kind of like a ink blot test, in a way it might even gain some insight to yourself if you are looking for evil you will find it and of course if you are looking for good you will that also. They say everything we see is connected to memory. Some of you might have heard that when columbus ships landed in America the natives could not see them because they were so unlike anything they had ever seen. What do you think of this concept?

I immediately saw good, then within seconds I noticed evil. These types of things fascinate me. I agree that we will find that which are subconsciously searching for. If we color our thinking negatively, then we will perceive things as being negative. Whereas if we color our thinking positively we will perceive things in a more positive light.

The first thing I seen was good, so I guess I am seeking good things. I don't really think that the natives didn't see the Americans because of memory though. But the other things you stated were quite interesting.

yes it could be kind of a urban legend as far as native americans not seeing it or mistaking the ships as clouds. thanks for the post.

I agree that everyone is going to have a different perception of things that they see. In you avatar I just see the word Good. I don't see anything evil about it at all.

Yes its almost strange how we all see it differently ands its only a 2D object. The black spells the evil part inside of the good, I haev to admit I inverted the colors because when I looked at it the other way the evil seemed to stand out when it was white. I kind of wish I had left it like it was and just asked what everyone seen without saying what they should see. That would have been the more scientific thing to do but I was just curious what everyone would see first and didnt think of people seeign it differently as in colors, shapes everyone sees things in their own way thats for sure. Thank you for your reply.

I don't get it so, I only see the word 'good' into your avatar with a black ground :P

I do have to admit I did invert the colors because the other way it seemed as if the evil stood out more directly so I guess I have tainted the results myself with that and the fact that I caleld out good and evil instead of just asking what everyone could see. Thank you for your reply.

Are you serious? It says "good" how do you get "evil" out of it. It may be a kind of spooky looking good but it is sill good.

I think you are probly concentrating on shapes more than color focuss on the color of each area white=good, black =evil but its funny that you pick up just the shapes looking at it I can see what you mean. Thanks for the reply.

When I have read your title question, I looked at it directly and I read the word "Good." WHen I continued reading your discussion if what do I see,"Good or Evil?", I tried to look at the word closely and there! Saw the word "Evil"! Wow! You're avatar is really deceiving! I like it! :)
With that concept, I believe that it depicts on our personality and how we see life itself. If we see our life as something wonderful despite of all the the hindrances and challenges we have been through, it simply means that you have a positive outlook in your life. Otherwise, what you always think of are the negative things that can eventually ruin your life.
Your avatar is something we people could think of. I guess it's time for each and everyone of us to think how is our life going nowadays? It's time for us now to reassess ourselves if we still are in the right path and plan on things that could make our life better. :)
THanks for sharing your avatar! :)

cant really take the credit for making it. It was sent to me in a email a long time ago. But yes thats waht I thought is if you view it and see only one thing than it probly means the same thing as what you described, again thats my opinions only. Thank you for the reply.

I keep sayign its not about what anyone person sees its about what each of us see individually, kind of everyone sees what they want to see. Thanks for the reply.

I saw good instantly. After I started reading your post, I went to look for evil, and it took me a few seconds to spot it. I hope that means I'm a good girl!

I am not really sure what it means I am not a psychologist and even if you had a room full of them I am sure they would argue over what it did mean for days. I guess ultimately its up to each of us to decide if it means anything to us or not. thank you for your reply.

To see one or the other you kind of have to stare past it and let it go slightly out of focuss if you are having a hard time. The good is the white and the evil is the black isnide the white. Thanks for your reply.

I saw GOOD, if you havent mentioned about the evil i could haver not noticed it. I think it is in the eye of the beholder, the eyes could see what the heart want to see. Although it is true that there is good in every evil, and evil in every good. the self will see what he descides to see. and call on those to come out.

It says good but no matter how I squinted trying to see evil-I couldn't. I love optical illusions. I thought that about the natives here not seeing- I had heard that they did not see the ships, but I didn't know they couldn't see the people. that is the most remarkable thing. i have posted frequently about ghosts, visions, haunts, time travelers (yeah that's right, you're hearing from a screwball today)and so you understand I am very interested in the things people can't /don't/won't see. great post

Honestly, the first time I looked, (quickly) I thought it said GOD. I blinked and looked again and saw GOOD. I would have never noticed it even said evil if I hadn't seen this post. Now every time I look, the evil stands out more and I can't seem to train my eyes to look outside that. I'm definitely not looking for evil!
