I met my husband because I placed a personal ad in a local newspaper. I knew what qualities I was looking for, but I couldn't find Mr. Right in my day-to-day life. I had tried dating, meeting people through friends, meeting people in college, but nothing worked.
How did you meet your partner? Are you happy with the way things have turned out? Do you wish you'd had more guys or girls to choose from? Please post.

I met him through a mutual friend again, even though I did know him previously because we went to the same high school but I thought he was gross because of the person he was dating at the time. When we hooked back up he was a totally different person but never thought Id be married to someone I went to high school with.

The funny part is that my husband now was actually good friends with me and my ex boyfriend! I was with my ex boyfriend and started hanging out and falling for my hubby now! So I broke up with my boyfriend at the time and got together with his friend (my hubby now!) We waited a few months to start hooking up after the breakup So we didn't ruin any friendships. But we all luagh about to this day

Well if I must tell how I met my husband then I met him through a blind date from my mother when I was 16 years old. He was 20 and worked with my mother and she wanted him to go out with me. How is that for a blind date. I was young and took me a long time to decide that I finally wanted to make a life with him. I had not met many men or gone out with many. But in the end decided he was the right man for me and now 27 years later he is still the greatest. We have 2 children grown and gone and one grandchild. Grandchildren are great and you can send them home when you want too. I love my life and couldn't be happier and could not live without him. He is my best friend.

well my husband came in to where i worked drunk and trying to sober up lol. i waited on him and got his coffee. we started talking and flirting. i got off work and he was still there i sat down next to him to do my paperwork and stuff and have a bite to eat. my back was hurting and i felt so tired i was a single mom of a 14 month old. i was working the graveyard shift at a waffle house and i was tired. he started rubbing my back and flirting even more and so did i. i thought he was the most good looking guy i had ever seen. we exchanged numbers that night. the next night he called me. we talked on the phone and i knew i really liked him. i asked him the 3rd night if he would go to west end with me and my daughter cause she liked the lights and i liked the music etc and i didnt want to go alone and the people that i was going to go with backed out. he said sure so i gave him directions to my house. we went out and he was so good with my daughter and every time i looked at him i melted alittle. we went to get on the elevator and he turned and kissed me and oh my i thought i would pass out i had never felt like that before. he went home with me that night i am embarrassed to say and moved in the next day. 3 weeks later we were married and have been together 11 years now. i still melt in his arms and still get light headed at his kisses.

It was really odd, my husband and I went to high school together for at least a couple of years. He and his brother look a lot alike. I knew which one was which but I always got their names wrong. The way we actually met, though, was I was standing in the lunch line the first day of my last quarter of technical college. Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder and someone said "I thought you went to UNA". I turned around and there was my future husband. I told him my name thinking that he had me mistaken for someone else. He said "I know who you are but I thought you went to UNA". He sat with me that day while I was eating lunch and he kept doing so over the next few days. We were in revival at my church that week and I finally got up my nerve and invited him to come to our revival, he and his family, because I was trying not to sound like I was asking him for a date, Ha! Ha! He kidded me later on and told me that he realized that was what I was doing though.
To make a long story short, we dated for the next three years, partly by mail because he went into the Marine Corps and was at boot camp for a while. We got married in December 1983 and have been married ever since. We celebrated our anniversary of 23 years this past December. I love him more and more each day and am thankful to have him as my husband. We have a daughter who is 20 and a son who is 14. I'm very happy to be married to my husband and look forward to many more years together.

I met my husband at work. He was a dihwasher and I was a cook. I did not find him appealing or attractive at all. I actually complained to my boss that he was creepy. But slowly he won he over with his personality and you know what he has grown to be a very handsome man. We have been together 8 years now and have two wonderful kids and he is no longer a dishwasher but a manger of an automotive dealership.

I met my current boyfriend online in a singles sites, even though I was dating someone else he invited me to a baseball game for our first date, and I didn't see any harm in it since we both liked baseball. I had such a great time that I broke up with my boyfriend the next day so I could date this guy. We have been together ever since and it is almost a year now.

I met my husband at my front door!!! I was managing a very small apartment building as a second job to reduce my rent..and he came to look at a vacant apartment...he liked it, I liked that he liked it, he moved in....and I jokingly tell everyone that I've been managing him ever since!!! LOL We are married 33+ years now and have been together for about 36 years...( and the apartment wasn't THAT nice..LOL)It was the best "door opening" experience of my life!

My husband and I met while living in the same apartment complex. I'd eye him, he'd eye me and about 6 months later we finally met. I'm pretty happy with the way things worked out, even if my husband and I get irritated with each other from time to time. LOL

my husband and i were co-workers at an airconditioning company. he was an engineer and i was an admin. assistant. he just broke up with his girlfriend, and i was still in a relationship of 5 years with a guy whom i was not sure if i would be happy to spend the rest of my life with. I was an emotionally-battered girlfriend then, and yet I could not break up with him because I thought he'd still change.
Meanwhile, our engineer pursued me even if he knew that i was in a relationship. He was, and until now, a perfect gentleman, far from the qualities of my ex-boyfriend whom I decided to break up with after I realized it was not good to be with him anymore. I chose the other man, who is now my husband. We've been together for 4 years now and we're still looking forward to the years that we'd spend together!

I met my husband online. =)
I was going to college at the time in Kentucky, and was having a lot of health problems. Some of the times we were chatting it was on a laptop borrowed from a nurse when I was in the hospital, and other times it was in the computer lab at my college. The neat thing is that when we started talking I was talking to many other people online, and I wasn't thinking of him as a potential partner. In fact, there was someone else that I thought I was interested in that way. But gradually over months of just being friends, I found myself starting to feel differently. What finally got things moving was when I admitted to another online friend of ours that I liked him, and she had happened to have just moved across the country to be with his best friend, and they were living in the same apartment as my guy! So one night she told him what I had said... and things just kind of went from there.
When I had to leave college because of illness, and none of my family was willing to take me in, I moved from Kentucky to Michigan on very short notice, with my now-husband and our friends. It's a decision I definitely don't regret. I did have a lot of people to choose from, and I'm darn sure I chose the right one.
We've been together for eight years now, and married for three years. =)

I met my partner in an internet dating chat room. I had been single for a while and getting depressed, he had just ended a relationship that he was unhappy with and he made me laugh. We chatted online for three months before we actually met face to face and we have been together ever since.

I received a message from my partner on a gay website as she was looking for new friend's and liked my profile. I fancied her straight away but was respectful of the fact that she already had a girlfriend. I was only as we messaged back and forth that I realised she was not happy in her current relationship and wanted out. We then swapped phone numbers and chatted on the phone one night for over 3hrs and we met up for lunch the next day and that was the start of my happiness. I have been smiling ever since and I don't intend to stop now.

I am married and had found Mr. Right. I met him when I was in College. We were classmates that time. Right now, we are both happy. Well, as they say, marriage are made in heaven, but so are thunder and lightning. I guess it's normal for couples to have these situations in life. If you are looking for Mr. Right, try to consider this. because chances are he is looking for you too. Try to choose a mate with similar backgrounds, interest, values and beliefs like you do because they validate your own.
