GREEN, WHITE or RED ONIONS?

When cooking i use white onions. It has a not-too-strong flavor and is sweet specially when cooking corned beef and pizzas. Green is the same but is frequently large. Red is too flavorful and too strong that I get into tears when slicing it.
You.. What onions do you use often when cooking?

I like to use them all i love green onions on tacos or ontop of chili and other garnishes..i use white or yellow onions in cooking soups and stews and general purposes..i love red onions on my pizza and in pasta dishes or when making bruchetta...red onions are also my favorite onion on a salad

Yes I agree. Red onions are good especially when cooking meats and fishes dishes.

I like using the red and white onions especially for sauteing and basic dishes. I use the green ones for soups. Ditto with the corned beef --- I like the white onions for that. Very flavorful and I like the smell :) Revs up my appetite!

I actually use a combination of both white and red onions. Luckily I can purchase them already diced up in a container in the produce section of my grocery store. I keep them in the freezer when I need them for certain recipes like home-made chili.

onion is a must in my cooking and i love them. I can't imagine how my cooking taste without those ingredient items. Most of the time i will use both garlic and the shallots (red onion) to be put in my cooking. These two types of onion have their own specialty - garlic mostly will gives the taste to my food while the shallots will gives a nice aroma of the cooked food. The green onion i use mostly in my omelette's preparation. The green onion will makes the eggs smells nice and tasty a bit sweet too. I also use the green onion in my sweet and sour gravy for fried fish, chicken or prawn.

I use white onions when cooking. They are especially flavorful on pork chops. When I lived with my parents, my mom asked my dad to pick up some onions at the grocery store. He came home with purple onions. We didn't say anything because he did us a favor after all, but even HE commented on how the taste wasn't the same, and not nearly as good.

I generally use yellow onions.They are good in curries.I do use red sometimes,but I got used to yellow onions.I do use green onions.They are very tasty too.Almost in all dishes I uses the onions.

I'm a married guy. Generally my wife cooks food but sometimes I manage to get in kitchen and cook something good. She hates me entering kitchen as I am not used to clean all kitchen after cooking. I use white onion onlt generally as they are good to taste and adding little flavour in them is fantastic. I like green onion too but they are strong and can be used to prepare vegetables curry.
