Obama Barack, who is running for US Presidency, made $25 million in the first quarter. For what? Campaiging. How stupid is this, that while so many people go hungry, without shelter, without jobs, that these fools make this much money so that they can advertise themselves across our televisions. So that they can travel, and try to convince you to vote for them. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that they can do this, and they get away with it. Think about it, that's $25 million in the FIRST QUARTER. That's what, 3 months? When I turn 35 and can run for the Presidency, I think I will, with absolutely no political background. The single most important thing I will do when I run is not run ads on tv, not go on big rich campaigns. I will travel in a run down bus, or drive my own car. I will only use campaign money to cover small costs, and the rest will go to charity.

Other than the fact that he didn't MAKE the money. It was donated to him. And your idea to give the rest to charity is illegal.

OOooOOO, sorry for not being technical. It's still $25 that he has to blow on a silly campaign. It's still outrageous. Yes, my plan for charity wasn't completely fleshed out. Perhaps instead of having the money donated to me, I would tell supporters to donate that money to charity instead. I'm sure there are many ways around it.

Only thing I would like to know is where all the donations came from. For that matter it would be nice to know exactly how every candidate got their campaign money I am talking right down to who owns or controls the companies that donate thru a string of others to get around anyone finding out who donated to them. I think if we had a better idea who was bankrolling people we might have a better idea who they are going to serve. I also dislike the idea that out of our two main political parties everyone is starting to focuss on who has brought in the most contributions to decide who the nominees should be. Its bad enuff that we get the worst of the worst in major positions in those parties but now we have to look at who is the biggest sell out as being president.

I think you may find this link interesting. http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/index.asp?cycle=2008 Unfortunately you need an obscene amount of money to make it to the White House. In Obama's defense he has raised the majority of his money by smaller donations and by giving back the money that was donated by lobbyists. Do you think the candidates could get by on less money of they didn't have to spend so much defending themselves against other candidates attacks? That's what bothers me about American politics, they can't just have an honest campaign and speak the issues, the majority of them have to go out of their way to make the other look bad. I think put of the major players Obama has the most integrity. Good luck on your political aspirations. I also said I was gonna run for president when I turned 25, but I can't come up with enough money to compete.

It has always seemed a tad strange to me how much mainstream commerical tv stations rely upon political money. To think $25 million is all to be spent to try to convince me of something I would rather research on the internet to find actual answers to.
