Easter Eggs - What do you do with them after Easter?

My grandson has a half day of school today. We boiled six white eggs last night and put them in the fridge. I bought a kit that has dye tablets and stickers for eyes, noses and mouths. We are going to color the eggs and finish them off this afternoon. I limited the amount to 6 eggs so we wouldn't have a lot of eggs to feel guilty about tossing out. My husband isn't too fond of vibrantly colored egg salad sandwiches. Maybe I will try to make some deviled eggs. What do you do with your dyed eggs after Easter?

I would normally throw the eggs out if they are real. They would have probably have to be thrown out since they have been out of the refridgerator too long. I might eat some of them if its Easter and the eggs were colored by boiling them a while.

When we have alot left over we just peel the shell off, drop them in pickle juice and put them in the fridge. They are really good once they are pickled. I know some who will read your post will say "gross" but they sell pickled eggs in the markets and this is cheaper than buying them.

Hubby loves pickled eggs. I am not a big fan of them, but I know many that do. Good tip!

Making deviled eggs is a great way to use them all! :)
We also like to make egg salad out of them.
But I have seven kids...and I have had to ask them to leave me some eggs too. ha ha
Otherwise, I would not get any! LOL

I like deviled eggs the way my mom makes them!!
They are great! :)
My favorite thing to do with them besides eating them plain, is making a egg salad sandwich. :D

Oh this sounds like a really great adventure you are going to do with your grandson today. Well when I have finished with the eggs after Easter, I normally take the shell of and can put them on sandwiches or mix them in my curries another thing I have done is to put them in the garden as they are great for my garden.

Only the shells have vibrant colors! That doesn;t affect the egg salad. I make that, and devilled. Or try eggs florentine.
Wahs a bunch of spinach and remove tough stems. Steam lightly just in water clinging to leaves. Chop. Place in a buttered casserole. Arrange peeled hard boiled eggs on top. Pour on homemade bechamel sauce mixed with freshly grated locatelli. Bake at 350 F until bubbly.
Meatloag slices look nice when hard boiled eggs are baked inside. Same with veal-and-ham pie.

It's been a long time since I colored eggs at Easter time! I always thought it was fun to do! Anyway, I always ate the hard-boiled eggs, no matter WHAT color they were! LOL. Sometimes, we'd make deviled eggs out of them or egg salad for sandwiches.

When I was a child and we painted eggs for easter .. we always made little holes in each end and blew the egg out of the shell ..
Then the shells were painted and the eggs used for breakfast scrambled or made into sandwiches or used for cooking .. I'd never have thought about leaving the eggs inside

we make the usual deviled eggs of course. everybody in the house loves those so they dont last very long at all.
the lady i care for really likes hard-boiled egg sandwiches. so i save some for her.
and IF there are still eggs left, we will make egg-salad for our own sandwiches.
which reminds me that i need to get eggs and color for this sunday!
thanks! i almost forgot!

we eat them. for some reason dyed eggs taste better than regular hard boiled eggs lol. my husband and i and both our girls like hard boiled eggs so we'll eat them all. we did a dozen this year. 5 min into it my 4 year old knocked over the orange and we had a mess but we survived another year of dying eggs lol. my girls like to just eat them whole, i do that or make an sliced egg sandwich. deviled eggs sounds good too.

Deviled eggs, egg salad, and just plain old hard boiled eggs. They get used a lot of different ways at my house.

Despite the little bit of color that seeps through the egg shell on occasion, we eat ours always. We use them for egg salad, tuna salad, or cut them up and put them on a green salad.

Mmmm...I love boiled eggs! Yum!! :)
I eat all of them when we boil them.
Even if they do have a little color on them.
I like the yoke, and the whites, but some of my brothers and sisters do not, so they try to throw them away. I think that all little kids tend to do that when they don't want to eat something.
Well, after dying the eggs and hunting for them, we of course eat as many as possible. But, of course we do not eat them all, so my mom either eats them, we make egg salad sandwiches, and once in a while we also have deviled eggs.
So, either way, in our house they are eaten some way!! :)

I think colored egg salad sandwiches are pretty cool! My daughter loves them too. We do just that- Make devilled eggs, throw them in tossed salad with Easter dinner, throw them in macaroni salad-- My mom insists we have macaroni salad with every holiday! LOL, and eat them in egg salad sandwiches. My daughter loves loves loves hard boiled eggs! We boil about a dozen each week for school lunches, dinners, salads.

None of us are big boiled egg eaters, so usually they will sit in the fridge for a couple of days, then they end up in the trash can! The kids just like decorating them, they are more concerned about getting candy though. They like to paint them and look at them occasionally and when they lose interest we throw them out! It seems silly to waste eggs like that, but I don't think I have anything else I could do with them since no one wants to eat them!
