Pay attention people, because I wanna share this to all those who continues on asking why their earnings get deducted and why they get less earnings. To avoid speculations, complains and whinings, I decided to start this post to inform you all and also refresh your memories.*Mylot does not allow discussions promoting own referral links.*They do not allow the use of capital letters or excessive punctuations in every post.*Starting discussions about birthdays, promoting a milestone, anniversaries, about ratings etc., are prohibited.*Posting copyrighted photos and making it as your own are not allowed, using a link is the proper way to reference it. Which includes copy/pasting of any such words coming directly from Wikipedia, news stories or dictionary on the internet are not allowed.*Copying posts from other mylot members are a violation that is strictly not tolerated here on mylot community, accounts will be cancelled if they are found in doing it so.*Photos inserted/uploaded must be in relation to the topic or the discussion of interest, if also found out, it will be deleted and may cause to cancellation of the account.*Polls and surveys are also prohibited.*All discsussions, topics, posts should be written in english. It's more better if you also report violators and offenders to help this community clean, and reputable. To understand more about this, you can click on the link from mylot that I will provide. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/457762.aspx

I'd be curious to know if they deduct earnings for violators of all of these, or whether they just disallow the answers/discussions. Some of these no-no's are worse than others. Also I wonder how they differentiate a discussion that's just promotinga referral from one that's posting a legitimate opportunity for other users, and giving their referral in case the person wants to sign up. To me that's OK,but maybe to Mylot it's not.

If most of us do report it, then it's most possible that they get deleted immediately. I just reported alot of violations just this day, I'll go and wait for mylot admin's actions about these. I think mylot allows us to post links, but it should be with relevance to the topic. We can promote links and other sites on our own profiles, by using the HTML sorties as what I see to others profiles lately. That's as far as I know..

I think we also must add one more thing. Discussions that are just barely a sentence long. I have at least one friend who starts these, and I am refusing to respond to them, as I would still give a good answer, then find the discussion deleted. Thanks friend for keeping us reminded that we want good quality discussions for all on myLot.

Yes!;) I also forgot about that, as Mylot did emphasize that members will not get payed for answering or posting with short sentences or one-liners.

thanks for reminding us about mylot policies again... and yes, i agree that many people just complains or get upset when their post get deleted without knowing that they had actually violated mylot rules... also, the person answering to those deleted posts also get their payment deducted which is actually their own fault... i won't respond to a discussion that i think will be deleted by mylot... i wouldn't want to waste my time there...

Yes, that is very true. There are members here who even threatens to leave this community if mylot admin doesn't respond on their message, which I know is not good to demand something from them. Unless they read the guidelines, then they shouldn't be whining all-over this site. A mistake of just one member shouldn't be a reason to speculate on things that we know does have solutions, if they just put their time in reading mylot's guidelines.

Well i for one respond to several people's threads and recently had my 10 star rating drop to a nine. Although I didn't see a decrease in my rating number, I am wondering ig I had responded to those who had broke the rules, and my rating went down because of them. What do you think? Could that be possible? As the rules you have reposted for us, I follow them pretty precisely so I doubt that could be the reason for my fall.

Barnkinney-I do believe if you have responded to threads where the accounts have been dleted, we as members lose our pay. It is kind of a ctach 22-we hope that everyone her eis following the rules because if they lose out, in a sense we all lose out. I have seen posts that people have startedstating there pay had decreased overall a few cents or even up to a dollar or more. The only reason I can think of is they particiapted in "bad user" discssions, or their own threads my have broken the rules and had been deleted.

Hello princess....... You are correct.....anything earned by a discussion or response that is later deleted will be lost. The key is to be more careful about which discussions we get involved with. Tom

Yes, and be not afraid or even think twice to report them as mylot encourages us to do it so. To help this community rid of spammers, abusers and irrelevant posters. I've been seeing photos inserted on some posts with no relation to the topic, and I've reported them all. If they don't get kicked off here, they I hope they would receive a warning from the admin and that they would realize that cheaters have no place in here. Thanks for the time, and happy posting..

Hello raijin..... I agree.....I also have a recent discussion telling everyone to learn what needs to be reported and rated negatively. I think this should be one of the most numerous discussions on this forum. It is sometimes very difficult to find the quality discussions because of the amount of garbage postings. I also reward those that post quality discussion and responses when I find them because I feel it is important to try to counter balance all the crap that is posted. Tom

That was alot of information my friend. Thank you for sharing them with us. Maybe we really have to consider those guidelines for the protection of our account. I hope I have not violated any rules here. I don't want to be out, I love MyLot so much.

that is a good thing to do men! reminding members of how to avoid making discussion that are no use and have a tendency to get deleted. I think this is also a techinique for us not to make a response with this kind of discussion cause whenever we response to this discussion and get deleted our post will be deleted too. I like that fact that this kind of reminder will make a big differnce to all.

It's good of you to remind people with these things, most members don't read or soon forget it :( It's sad that maybe 25% of the new discussions are against the rules in one way or the other. )This is just my estimate and I'm not sure about the percentage).

Thanks so much again my friend, I really appreciate your thoughts about this!;) Well, my estimate would be around 30 to 40%. Because I've seen a lot of it lately, and mostly newbies does this type of violations. As they do not intend to make time to read the guidelines, I feel that most of the older members sometimes gets to be the victim when they try to respond to some of it.

Nice discussion my friend and congratulation for the 2000 mark another milestone you have just achieved. I will be very honest with you my friend even I am a 3 month member here there are times I really answer to such discussion and sometimes started a discussion that I think violated mylot rule but let's accept the fact that sometimes we really want to be part of our friends happiness specially if it thier bday or any special event and as a friend I really want to be apart of it. I think for me it is not a major violation to greet or wish a friend here on mylot if it is really his/her bday. Thanks for reminding us once in awhile, you are simply great! keep it up!

I am sorry my friend, but as you can see, I also reply to some of the discussions about b-days -including your's. I've just reviewed mylot's guidelines lately, and I realized that I also do make mistakes sometimes. Yes, we do this at times for our friends. But I also want to share this topic to others, so they would not have to ask, complain, and conclude if ever their posts got deleted. Well, thanks to you too for the kind words.. But I have recently found out that one of my post was deleted, so I got back to 1999. That's okay, as I know I did made another mistake!;)

Thank you very much for this. I've noticed a lot of whining and complaining in the discussions about lost earnings and it's good that you refreshed our memories about what mylot expects from its members. I have noticed a minor decrease in my earnings last time, and I thought that maybe they have adjusted the earnings because of the upcoming payout or that I could've responded to a discussion that was deleted. Whatever reason it may be, I trust that mylot exercises its best and fair judgment in managing our accounts. With my memory refreshed, I'll be more careful now with the discussions that I respond to, or risk my post being deleted along with the discussion. Again, many thanks! :)

That is true, mylot provided us the best ways to earn money and keep up our reputations good here. I guess it's up to us if we would apply them here or ignore it, and suffer whatever consequences, or earn the rewards it would bring to us. Thank you for your kind words and for taking time to read my post!;)

Thanks for this reminder rai! i just don't get however why some myLotters get away with this. Like their topics are in violation of the rules, but their topics aren't deleted! I have seen tons of these types of discussion going way way back to even months ago... Is there favoritism here? are older members given more priority? like their discussions are less likely to be deleted because they have been members for a longer time? im sorry to answer your discussion with some questions, i just kind of find this unfair...

Thank you very much for the information provided, i have to say mylot has been done pretty well in most of the situations, but it seems that the transparency of mylot is still very low, we can hardly know how our earnings are calculated. Also some people have followed the mylot posting guidelines, but they have their discussions deleted,on the other hand, some people seems to have violated the rules, but they are still here.. May be mylot staff do not have enough time to keep track with the activities of 85000 members..

We may never know why their posts are deleted, so we can also not be sure if what they say are accurate. I've been here for a long time now, and I've never encountered a deletion in my post. It is because I always try to make it a habit to consult and re-read everything on how to be a responsible mylot member. A wrong use of a word, with a slight mistake may be a ground for deletions of discussions. As I know, alot of those who read the guidelines or even this post of mine still do not 100% apply what is written on the guidelines.

Thanks to you my friend for reminding this to us. I am really searching about a post like this in Mylot. I know I have read it before but forgot some important things discussed on the thread. This will really help me to checked what are the things I failed to comply. Before I have about $15 worth of earnings in the site but when the payout was given I only recieved $10. I also noticed that my earnings was already deducted about $2.50. This makes me mad at first but after reading the thread I realized that it was also my mistake. One common rule violated in the site is the sharing of links to other programs. I know it is prohibited especially when you are making referrals through other programs. I hope this kind of threads should be stopped since it makes the site discussion messed up. I already learned my lesson here in Mylot and I am making my way to start again. This time, it's not just because I like to post in my own style but within the rules of the site.

Hi Raijin, please accept my thanks for your effort in listing out the do’s and don’t. From your discussion subject and the respond that you did are pretty good. It is obvious that you are quite knowledgeable in myLot. As for me, this is a great discussion subject and you have taken pains in trying to reply to all the responds. You are serious about the “bad weeds” that is good and we should do like wise for the better and future of myLot. Cheers

Yes, I've been trying to explain this to most of the members, especially the newbies. But I don't think that they do try to heed my advice, and I sometimes wonder if they are really looking for an advice or just to earn points and add some cents on their earnings. So I decided to post this topic, so if ever they ask again and found their topic about this, then I won't have to worry or take any of my time on trying to repeat it again and again. Thanks also, and cheers!;)

Thank you raijin for starting a discussion like this. It will help me not to do those violations. I admit I sometimes forgot about the do's and don'ts of starting and responding to the discussions. But now I know the reason why some of my discussions are deleted. They also deducted my earnings but now I know it's not their fault but mine. From now on I'll be more concious with my discussions regarding the violations so I won't experience to be deducted again.

I also have committed some of those violations way back then, so I tried my best to look for more 'quality' postings from other mylot users. It may be hard, but it pays to be more familiar of what was stated on the guidelines. Just yesterday, I again had another post deleted. I'm sure it's not my own thread, so I guess it was one from those previous discussions that I've been to. I won't complain or even question it, because I know that these do happen every now and then..

that was quite a lengthy post, but useful as well. i cant believe that it is prohibited to post about birthdays, milestones, and even ratings. that is pretty ridiculous to me. anyways, i will try to post to discussions that are at least one sentence long from now on for fear that the discussion may be deleted as i don't want to waste time writing something only to have it deleted and not get paid for it.
