How do you get out of debt?

My husband and I have a few credit card's. Each one is maxed out, I have a few he does not know about and they are full. We are way over our head's in debt, and I don't see a way out. I am at the point of having our debt consollidated but I don't know how that work's. Am I going to have it on my credit report. We do make all our payment's more then the minimum payment's. We have been having some money problem's, so we have used our credit card's to keep us above water. I want to know about consollidation and what the process is. And also, any real money making opportunities. Thanks in advance

You should check out SuzeOrman.com or watch her show, The Suze Orman Show. All you have to do is to talk about your debt, and decide which ones to pay off first. I would say the one with the highest interest rate. Second call all your creditors and tell them your problems... if you have been paying them on time for at least 6 months they should be able to lower your interest rate!!
As far as any money making opprotunitites... sell your crap! I'm sure there stuff still in bags or with tags if you say your a compulsive buyer! You could sell on frimp.com there's no fees to post. You could also look into mystery shopping. speedmark is a good one. They do lots of grocery stores that way you're not buying stuff for no reason, you need food. You could cook more at home. And you could think of it as getting a discount, and use coupons!!!

i attacked the smallest bill first and then teh next up and the next. it gave me the confidence to start a positive trend and i went from there. also, think about starting a business of your own. i went to www.reliv.com and started a distributorship. its a young company but huge and we're in 13 countries now. theres a meeting every tuesday at 7:30pm close to you. buzz me and i can get you going. we have a support base of thousands anytime you need us.
