Hi, My name is Rachel and I have been Wiccan for 19 years, When I first started watching charmed i thought it was anouther fanciful show about witches with power..yeppie. I was pleasantly surprised how accurate thier wiccan information is. Now we don't have powers, or fight demons, but the wiccan ritual, and information they talk about is pretty accurate. This show was a whole lot better than I origanally thought it would be. What do ya'll think?

I watch the reruns as well, every afternoon, even my kids are getting hooked, and I think this way mabye some of the negative stereotypes about witches will lessen.

i'm not wiccan either, but i have friends who are. and, in addition to what i've learned from them, the show is actually pretty informative on the ways of wicca. minus, as you said the whole superpower thing.

I was super pleased that they were able to show the side to the world that Wicca is not evil. And how they were able to mix in how they feel stressed and outcast to not reveal that to others because they would not be looked at the same. Even the episode showing their future selves where Phoebe had used her power to kill someone...it showed that she had to pay for the consequence. I loved the fact that they were able to let her die but to also send her back with all of them being educated. Now, this is the fun part of Hollywood...but I think it really helped to show people the true meaning. And because of that, I was very addicted! :) This summer the kids and I plan on having a Charmed marathon during the days that are too hot to go outside. :)

We were pleased with the show and would have liked to have them if they had been real in our neighborhood. A bit too exciting however a nice trio to socialize with and seek help from. The learning curve would have been terrific also. We did enjoy it and they brought many actors to the set for episodes. French Stewart is a favorite actor of ours. Hopefully there will be more shows to accurately show Wiccans as they are.

I would also have liked to be able to live near them. The things we could learn, but look at it this way, watching the show we can learn some things from being able to look into thier lives and home for an hour at a time..lol

I do know what you mean there. They did do a lot of research into the practice of Wicca and paganism. It was nice to see that they went to those legnths. They were't always completly accurate but they were better then most with such things which was a nice change after how some movies and shows portray it.

It's awesome to find someone who appreciates the reality of it. So many don't know the truths about wicca and paganism, so they are not sure what to beleive in the show. Thanks for commenting.

I love this show. I am watching it at the moment. I must admit that since first watching the show, it has peaked my interest. I had interested in Wicca before and it seems that I am being pulled to that path. The more I put things on the back burner, the stronger the pull is. So, I have learned not to ignore it anymore. I have just enrolled in a class called Basic Wicca. I figured I best listen to my calling. Do you or anyone have any suggestions on books that would help me?

One episode with Paige in it had an interesting book. It was maybe the 2nd or 3rd episode that Paige was in and she was sitting at her desk in the Social worker's job and she was reading a book called "The Encyclopidia of Witches and Witchcraft". When I saw that book I yelled out "I have that book!" I was really surprised when I saw Paige reading that book lol! I think the author of that book is Ellen Rosemary or something like that. I don't feel like getting up and checking right now.

I am not a Wiccan but I am interested in the subject. I have watched Charmed since the first season and I thought that it was a very well-researched show.

I'm glad that you are learning more about it. Wicca has so many negative sterotypes, and it's good that people are seeing it for what it really is, even if it is not the right path for you, at least you are educating yourself about it, and that is a very powerful thing. Thank you!
