How did you react when you saw your first grand child born.
I had been in the hospital with my daughter for over twelve hours when she was finally taken to the delivery room.
I was in the hospital garb that they had given to me wear and was standing beside her. I was watching her face and when she began bearing down I watched the actual birth. When I saw my grand child's head and face, I just couldn't believe it. For the child looked just like my daugther. I did a double take and looked at my daughter again!
I said to myself, not out loud, "how could my daughter be birthing herself?'
After the nurse checked the baby she then placed the child in my arms and busted out crying so loud for joy at this little miracle in my arms.

I haven't ever experienced this yet. I have to have children first lol. I don't have the greatest relationship with my mom so I don't know if I will have her there or not. I would love to have my grandmother there though so she could experience the birth of her great grandchild.

I remember that. It was an emotional and uncertain time. My daughter was giving the child up for adoption and I didn't know how to react. I remember seeing and holding the child and just crying and not knowing how it would all turn out and if she was making the right decision. Time has made everything turn out alright, but it was a difficult day.

What a sweet story. I can't say that I've seen any of my grandchildren be born, because I still have to have children first. lol But I would really like if my mother was in the room with me to watch her grandchild be born. I can't remember if she got to see any my brother's children born or not. (Well...only one was born while they lived here, so Mom couldn't see any of the others) I'm a bit shy, so it's kinda wierd to want people stanging there staring up into my privates as they are ripped apart. But I guess the miracle of birth takes over so no one really thinks of that.
