In the foothills and up in the mountains, we have lts of Pines and Aspens. Down in the plains, not many trees grow. High altitude, high temp and not a lot of water, so the plains are pretty bare. I love the aspens, they are so pretty. BUt I miss the oaks and the maples from where I was raised.

We planted a winter king hawthorn outside the kitchen window several years ago. It is lovely. In the spring it blossoms and in the winter it has red berries that attract the birds. Sometimes in winter I look out on a snowy day to see the tree of red berries filled with robins or cardinals. I enjoy it very much.

The dogwood trees are flowering now - big pink blossoms - and they're so pretty. I just love seeing them in the springtime. That's the hardest part about driving past our old house nearly every day, is the awesome dogwood tree in the front yard. I miss the tree more than anything else, I think. :)

I live in Ohio, called the buckeye state, but I don't know what a buckeye tree looks like. We have a lot of maple, oak, black walnut, crab apple, spruce, and many that I don't know the names of. I like the huge variety of trees, and now in the spring they are starting to bud and I like to just walk around in the woods and look at them. My favorite tree right now is a quaking aspen that my friend dug up from his yard when it was a little twig. I planted it in my yard a few years ago and it's about 10 feet tall now.

It will definitely be coconut trees here in my country. Philippines is very popular with coconut producing products and are known to export to other countries. Everywhere you go, there are a lot of coconut trees. You can also see a lot of coconuts hanging on the trees. :)

My favorites are the weeping willows, but we have quite a few different kinds of pine trees, oak, maple, etc. In certain months the apple trees and peach trees all blossom and that is really neat to see.

Oh there are many different kinds here. Within view from my home there are maple, white oak, flowering crab apple, pear, pine and my favorite, miniature rose trees. Some trees are very tall and old while otheres are not quite mature yet. Most are just starting to get their buds.

Well, in my backyard i have 2 huge Gum trees, they're pretty cool coz the giant flocks of Galahs come in around dusk & perch up on the branches to sleep. It does get pretty noisey though coz those birds aren't exactly quiet!
What else do i have here?
Oh i also have a few fruit trees, a Eucalyptus tree & a big old willow tree right up the back of the yard - although the willow is falling apart coz they don't have a very long life span!
Silly me, i should tell you where i am huh? I'm in country South Australia - Australia!

I live in Smalltown USA, LOL. It is actually a lovely little town, so much nicer than the city I moved from.
There are a lot of flowering trees here, dogwoods, cherries, pear, redbuds, magnolias, and quite a few I don't know.
Where ever you look there are trees blooming, they line the streets, dot people's yards and it is just so pretty.

In the area where I reside, all I can see are little pine trees. I don't think there will be many trees growing around here because this is like an industrial area. More or less the ones I see are shrubs. That is why we are getting a house away from all these refineries here in Texas. The more trees there will be, the air quality is much better.
Back in my native country, we got lots of trees all around. Fruits trees in the backyard, acacias, gemelina (hardwood trees). Give lots of shade especially on summer. That is one of the things I missed, clean air.

From my windows i see a willow, some birches, pine, some fruit trees. There are a lot of trees around here. When the houses in our area got buildt during the second world war they planned it so that we would have lots of grass and trees around us, even if we live in 12 apartment houses.

My very first thought upon reading that question....what grows in my town...idiots. But you were asking about trees, so being in New England we have a wide range of trees from maples to birch to pine and spruce. We also have fruit bearing trees like apple and cherry, I live in an area that has many apple orchards. Tress of all kinds are plentiful here.

I live in Oregon, we have LOTS of trees...
Fir trees, pine trees, dogwood trees, apple trees, cherry blossom trees, oak trees, filbert trees, blue spruce trees, Giant Sequoia, hemlock, Cedar and True Cedars, Black walnut, Cottonwood, Signature Oaks, Elm trees...
THese are just what I can think of off the top. We really do still have a lot of trees here in the Pacific Northwest! I highly reccommend a trip 'out west' to see the beautiful sights we have to offer!
Thanks for the great post!
