show-off?

When I ride the train, I see people using new or latest electronic gadgets like cellphones, ipod/mp3 players, pda, etc. which is fine. But sometimes, the seat mates of these people suddenly use theirs. Sometimes it is obvious that they are just pretending to use it. Are they trying to show-off? What do you think?

I really haven't noticed, but I don't pay any attention to what other people do when I'm traveling on mass transit. For me, I would be afraid someone would try to take it away from me, so I wouldn't want people to know I had it unless I was really using it. So, if they are using it to show off, then I don't think it's smart.

You're right especially in public transportation. If somebody started to use a CP others will follow.. i always observe them maybe to show off that "mine is more high tech than yours". I observed too that they don't use their celfone to answer a call or a message, they are just browsing while the eyes are looking everywhere. I just laugh inside how these people are ignorant.

It is funny what people do to impress. Shouldn't they even be more cautious and afraid of doing so than try to show off? What if there is a pickpocket or a holdupper inside? There you can see what kind of people you are with.. ahaha
