I don't know why your rating went down. I believe the star rating has to do with how people are rating you, not because of anything Mylot admin is doing. If you respond to a lot of controversial discussions, there is a higher chance of someone disagreeing with you and giving you a negative. I know they are not supposed to do that, but people do. I wouldn't worry about it, though. Just keep posting and your rating will go back up.

Yes I agree with the post above me. I don't think mylot has anything to do with the star, it is based on how people rate what you are saying. If you are responding or starting (i havent looked at what you post but i'm just throwing this out there!) topics that are controversial, people that dont like your point of view might minus you, even though they aren't really supossed to do that. About the disappearing posts, I dont know. Maybe your posts were fine, but I think if someone else posted something that was against the rules they would delete the whole thread including your posts. You could email and ask for more specifics on why your postings were removed. good luck.

It's frustrating when the rating goes down and I can't imagine why yours would do that. I worked so hard to get mine to 10 and when it did I danced a jig. Then I woke up one morining and I was back down to 9. Haven't been back to 10 since. Granted, I didn't drop to a 5, but still it's frustrating. I wish I had the answers for you, but I don't. Just the sympathy.

Mylot admin don't have anything to do with our star ratings and reputations. These are based solely on the members when we rate positive or negative to discussions and responses. I just responded to another post where someone's rating dropped over the weekend and she didn't know why. It seems as though a group of members are holding a vendetta against those of us with top ratings and reputations and it's really not right. We're told not to rate someone negative when we don't agree with what someone said, but people do it anyway and it's blatant abuse of the rating system. However, in order for your rating to drop so far from Friday to now, you must have been rated negatively by a lot of people. A ratings drop like that doesn't just happen overnight. It's a shame we can't see who rated us negatively at times like these. It would be interesting to see who has the vendetta against us.

I had similar experience one day. I didn't lost most of my post, but 1 or 2. I saw my posting number fall down after I just posted other 2 new discussions. I understood rate could be changed by the quality of the post, but the number of posting could always be increased. I guess Mylot might reboot their server at that time.

I am always inclined to think it's a glitch and will straighten out.. If not your friends can give as many ='s as possible and bring your rating back up..! Yeah, sometimes ya can't help offending someone.. sometimes it's as easy as thinking different then they.. I suppose it's possible they don't see the value of people having different opinions on some things.. When we all think exactly alike it won't be a good thing! :))

If you copy and paste any text from any website without started a legit discussion about the text and also giving the link to the text you use--it is considered plagiarism and copyright infringement even. Mylot does not consider those discussions to be 'quality discussion'. Also, if you create joke discussion they are deleted by mylot as they are a violation, so if members report you for creating joke discussion or mylot is out moderating and discovers your joke discussions they are deleted. Joke discussions are not considered to be quality by mylot because anyone can sit here all day and copy and paste text they steal from some online site. If you respond to discussions that are in violation of any rules like polls & surveys, Jokes, plagiarized text, etc... those discussions will get deleted when they get reported or mylot is out moderating and cleaning up the site. Therefore you will lose rating points and your 'quality star' will also take a hit. Rule of thumb here on mylot is to always create a discussion and response in your OWN words. If after you create that discussion or response and you wish to add some credibility to the post, you can quote text from another site BUT you can't quote the whole article, and if you do use a snip of text from another site to give credibility to your discussion you MUST give the link to where that text came from. You cannot copy and paste text from some online site and call that a discussion--Mylot doesn't they call it a violation. The reason you see so many members still violating the rules on mylot is because no one has reported them, and lets face it the forum has alot of members so mylot asks us members that care about the quality of mylot to REPORT THEM "!", and explain the violation the member is doing. Just because you see others violating the rules does not mean you jump on the band-wagon and join them in their cheating and scamming efforts for earnings. Some members here approach mylot like it is a Job and they are more prone to cheat and cut corners to get that mighty 'cent'.

If you lost posts and your rating went down I would suspect you have been stalked by a person that reports abuse. Copying others words from here or else where is against the guidelines. Just because you see others do it does not mean it is okay. A young man just killed 33 people on a campus. Can I go do that just because he did? NO!! Rules are for everyone and if you break them, they will most likely get deleted. If you post a piece from another site, say so and post the link to the site it came from. It is so easy and saves your pennies.

Your star rating is a reaction from the other MyLotters. Someone gets miffed at what you say, you get a negative, and it's legit and not a spam negative, (there are negative spammers here and MyLot's aware of them) the star goes down. Don't pay attention, the star can and does fluctuate, sometimes a lot, and it's a part of MyLot life. However, if a thread starter gets a negative or abusive, the whole thread gets deleted and that effects everyone in the thread. If you have been playing in controversial territory, you've probably gotten deleted as an innocent victim to someone else's bad behavior. That can and does just really bite. Try to take note of just who is being deleted a lot if you can. Try to avoid people who are cruel to fat people. Many of them are just after controversy to get points. That's just a nasty thing to do, get others upset for their gain.

Don't feel bad mine also dropped froma 99 to a 88 overnite! I am pretty sure I didn't offend anyone. I don't understand it either but it's not going to make me give up! It's just a number...

Hey huggiebear.. I know what you mean. I saw my rating go from a 9 to a 7 in just a couple of hours the other day. Someone didn't like what I had to say! I could honestly care less, it makes no difference to me if I have a 10 or a 2. I'm here to make conversation, possibly some friends. It sure ain't for the money or popularity! I speak my mind, I try to be helpful, give good advice if asked, give good information if asked. If someone doesn't like it.. ok.. someone else might. I hope you hear from MyLot soon and hopefully they'll find the person who's been making your numbers drop so drastically and get rid of them. There's been a lot of weird things going on around here lately. If things get too bad I'll just go elsewhere and take my good friends with me. The stress just isn't worth a few cents a day. I still think your a huggiebear :D

Sorry to hear about your problems with mylot, but I do have a question for you.. Where do you find this "post rating?" I don't believe I have ever seen it anywhere. Where does one check to see what their post rating is? Thanks in advance..

I don't know why your rating went down, but could I make a suggestion that is only meant to be helpful? Maybe you could start discussion that will start a conversation instead of jokes and quotes. I don't know that I would reply to more of your discussions if I could offer an opinion on something. Maybe you could ask funny questions like "Why do old men wear their pants higher than younger men?"
