Everyone should have experience of going to a buffet.
Will you eat slowly and enjoy the time with your friend? Or Will you eat quickly, finish one dish and then get another one after that?
You will always get a time limit, let say, one and a half hour, will you leave early once you feel enough,or you will sit down trying to 'digest' the food, and have the 'second or third' round??
What is your favourite in a buffet? Will you only eat your favourites or will you try different things??
What food do you think it will fill you up too easily?? Will you avoid these food so that you can eat more???Do you guys get any good and bad experience in buffet??
'I am not a big eater and I will be enough after few slices of ham,
I will leave early once I have enough because I cannor 'digest' the food in short time, but i had seen a guy who can eat nonstop ,may be the restuarant will loss money if everyone is like him ...lol.'

Ahhh buffets! Whenever I see yummy buffets, I never stop drooling. I only eat a lot when I know that the buffet is really delish because what's the point of eating buffets if the food's not even yummy? I never ate a buffet with a time limit before. I usually skip my meals before going to a buffet and then stuff myself like there's no tomorrow. To really get the most out of buffets, I grab as many expensive yummy stuffs as I can like salmon, steaks, chops, prawns, desserts. I also don't eat anything heavy like rice or pasta because it'll make you full easily. So that's my tactic =)

Buffet is a good place for friends to eat, I mean, it is not a suitable place to talk business. I go to some buffets from time to time. I like to go there cos I can taste many kinds of dishes. I never eat full up the the throat, health is the most important. if we eat too much, we will feel uncomfortable. I do not think we should pay for these uncomfortable feelings.

I have been to a buffet alote of times, and i always eat slowly and enjoy my meals, without thinking i have to try the second and third dish.
but if you want an honest answer, i will start and tell you, i never had a time limit when i ate.
whenever i eat i always make sure that i have enough time to eat, because i am a slow eater.
i can delay my dining time, if i feel i do not have enough time to eat, and taste all of the things that i like.
eating is not a race against time, and people that do eat fast, have problems with their digestion, later on.
so, like i said, i eat slowly, and i taste atleast two to three dishes that i like.

We went to a buffet today, Mongolian Barbeque. None of us ate a Salad (which we all love salad) all of us ate a good variety, except for my son - who ate only Mongolian Barbeque with Chicken as the meat. I think we get the idea of "getting our money's worth" and avoid foods that are basically really cheap or easy to come by otherwise. Going out to eat is a real treat for us and happens only 2 or 3 times a year. They had so many choices today - I took 1 piece of several different varieities of chicken, so that I could taste several but not get too full on any one. I thought then I could go back and get my favorite variety - but found I was quite satisfied when I sampled the several single pieces. One thing I do always get at these kinds of restaraunts however is hot and sour soup...this place had the best I ever tasted.

I like to go a few rounds. Each round, I will take a bit of everything that catches my eye. And I will take it again the next round if I still like it enough. I would save the dessert corner for the last though.
I leave when I am "satisfactory full". ^^

I would never go back for a second helping in a buffet restaurant. I fill my plate with a small selection of everything that I would like to taste and that is usually enough for me. I often see people with huge plates of food and it would be no time at all before thay go back again for second helpings. I used to wonder if they were tucking some of the food away in a container so that they could use it throughout the coming week. I just couldn't understand how anybody could eat so much but maybe they just have a very large appetite.

Funny you start this discussion as my daughter works at a buffet. I like going to a chinese buffet. I eat slowly and tend to stick to the vegetables. I like to try different foods because this is one of the few chances that you get to do something like this. I don't like going because my husband eats way too much and he eats all meats.

haha I love food so I would try to eat as much as I can LOL start off small then end up with a huge plate on the second serving. I always try to leave room for dessert and or coffee afterwards. We usually take our time and make the most of our dining out and will not rush to get out the door.

Haha. I will prefer to eat slowly as at buffet it is a good time for your friend to gather up to chit chat, so y the hurry to eat so fast.
As u havev make payment for the food. so you should enjoy it with your friend.

i am not a buffet guy! i would like to sit and eat a meal and then enjoy it with friends as they are eating.
i normally fill my plate with some fatless salad which can be easily consumed. for a buffet i usually have my food at home and then eat snippets for a long time.

whenever we got to the buffet, I usually have 1 normal plate and then some type of dessert plate. I will get fruit or something. My husband eats at least 3 plates plus a dessert plate. I really don't know where he puts it all. This reminds me of a buffet joke... The man is a very large comedian and said that he went to a Chinese Buffet and the owner told him... "You go now.. you here 4 hour.. why you here 4 hour.. you no come here anymore..why you have spare rib,, you so big .. eat vegetable.. eat brocolli.. you scare my wife. " You have to hear it.. it's hilarious. I left a link..really funny !!

I think everyone should eat according to their tummy.
We live to enjoy food. Just because it is buffet and start eating fast will really make you sick or grow fat fast or even lost the taste of food if taken at a very fast rate.
I strongly believe in appreciating food...in presentation and process of lingering in your mouth and flow into the tummy...
I seldom eat in buffet unless it is highly recommended by friends. Some buffet would cook for you on the spot which is really nice. like fry ice-cream... yummy.. ;

I would probably eat fast and then just hang out with my friend for the rest of the time. I might make a couple trips though, to try different things. The only things I avoid in a buffet are things i dislike or things that dont look good, or like they arent cooked well. I have had pretty good experiances at buffet's. I dont eat a ton, but probably eat an average amount. I don't eat more than usual just because I am at a buffet.

I can't think that we have anything remotely like a buffet around where I live .. just a few very expensive restaurants but nowhere where you can spend a set time in a place and eat to your hearts content ..
Sounds great .. and if there were such a place I would definitely try it .. especially trying out some new foods .. I would only take a little to start with then if I didn't like it I could go and choose something else

Buffets are not cheap. Hence, I would go for food which are of higher value or food that are not found in local foodcourts or eating places. I would not attend a buffet just to eat a few pieces of ham, that would not be worth for money. We would go few rounds to try out the variety of food. Even if we are full, we do not just leave the restaurant. We sit by and chat until it is about time for everybody to leave.

At a buffet I would normally take my time and eat slowly so that I can really enjoy most of the food there. I normally would avoid rice, potato or noodles since those would fill me up very quickly. I would normally go for those food that is not normally eaten everyday such as oysters and shark fin soup.

I eat slowly and then take my time and enjoy my food. I love buffets because you get a little bit of everything. Sometimes, it is good just to sit and unwind to the atmophsere. If I am there with the family then I eat as much as I can while my kids are content and then take my time once I am full.
