Lately the rate of vocations to the religious orders had fallen quite a huge bit, and very soon there won't be enough priests to serve the ever-growing Catholic communities worldwide. What do you think can be done to solve this serious issue?

i agree with you.this trend is happening in secular europe.the solution for this problem is look for asia, africa and latin america.the center of christendom is no longer in godless europe but shifting to these continents.i think to solve this issue we need to import priests from those 3 continents.

Frankly speaking i would be one of the happiest christian if the catholic faith is ruined. It is clearly stated in the bible that it is a false church, especially in revelation.I am saddened and in grief when i see people who are kind hearted deceived by this mother of harlots. Please open your minds dear catholics the practices of the catholics are against the will of God.Read your bible, understand it and don't be deceived again.

Well, that's a very anti-catholic comment that can spark conflicts. But the bible is only one pillar of the church. By saying that the Catholic church is a false church by just consulting the bible and not the other 3 pillars, is very dangerous. Your comments can break up the Christian faith even more, creating a never ending cycle of break offs and further heretic views. I'm not saying that your view are heretical, I just feel that one shouldn't comment upon a faith based on one aspect.

I have two comments: (1) I've heard that a lot of younger priests and seminary students are pretty conservative and don't go in much for that hippy-dippy new-age soft mush that passed for Catholicism in the 70s; and (2) I've also know of parishes nearby that are right now bringing priests in from India, and these are good, faithful men. God works in mysterious ways - and who knows? This "purging" of the ranks may prove to be healthy, in the end. Have faith in God, and it will be OK.

The Roman Catholic Church follows the Catechism and not the Holy Bible. I am a Christian who follows the Holy Bible. The Roman Catholic Church will go to where it is supposed to go. I hope that the members therein will think many times and go to where they are supposed to go.

I don't know. Everything that comes to mind would really change The Church. If they accepted gay Catholics, became pro-choice, allowed priests to marry, allowed women to be ordained. It wouldn't work.

I've heard of a trend away from the priesthood in favor of the laity. Lay ministries are reported to be booming within the Church, so one possiblity would be circuit priests performing the masses with deacons and lay ministers carrying out the daily ministries among the people.
