alot of peopel dont even take there own kids fishing these days. i think that is sad personally. then there are those of us that do take our kids. i think that is great too. have you ever taken someone else kid fishing though. maybe taught them to fish. there are so many kids out there that would love it but dont have a pretn to take them. do you find it in your heart to take them or do you even think about it? we have been taking my kids friends with us and it is great watching them. we have been thinking of signing up with big brother and sister and maybe take a few kids that way that would not have the chance to do otherwise.

I take my own kids and occasionally one or two of their cousins or friends. I have to take my older son every time, though....I don't remove catfish or bullfrogs(the bullfrog thing happened once)
I took a few boys from my sons boyscout troop one time and refuse to take more than one or two extra kids at a time now, I had alot of tangled, snagged and crossed lines and some of the boys needed me to cast out for them.

I've taken my nephew fishing, too. And last summer we got taken fishing by a local pro which was really cool. I managed to catch three mackarel on one line and my sons were so impressed with their old mom. We fished all the rest of the summer (catching nothing) and had a blast.

easymoney~ I like kgreig(she is my mom) ;0) like to go out with the family and fish. I personally wouldn't be able to stand it if I went out alone and tried to catch something! lol
I think it is a great family activity and I think it is wonderful that you and your family are thinking about joining Big Brother and Sister to offer this great joyful opportunity to other kids of our generation. Keep up the good work and keep us posted on how that goes for you.

Hi,
I took my girlfriend fishing 2 years ago and she loved it. She loved it so much that I bought her an entire fishing package at Christmas. I got her a few poles, tackle box, hooks, lines, net, basket, etc. She said that she could not wait for spring / summer to try them out. I recomend taking a person fishing, you never know...you could change there life.

i take my kids and their friends fishing alot.but if i am serious fishing i tend to go by myself.when i take my kids and their friends i tend to do alot of line untangling and knot tieing, plus if the fish are not biting the kids tend to lose interest and it ends up being a swimming trip

We have always taken kids fishing with us. When my sister comes up for the summer there are about 10 kids and 4 adults out fishing. We take turns who will reel in the fish so everyone gets a turn, and it is great once they get a little older and can bait and throw the line out themselves. A great family activity. We usually bring buckets and shovels so if the fishing isnt that good at least they have stuff to do.
