Does anyone else think Al Sharpton is a real idiot?

He just seems like a loud mouthed idiot. I have no clue what his education level is but even when he speaks he sounds uneducated. And he can't stand not to be in the limelight at all. The minute he thinks he can stir up a pot he jumps to it. I personally think he's a poor representative for the black man and woman of our world. There are so many other eloquent speakers that know how to use their brains, their etiquette and their class to get their point across and represent the black man in a much classier way.
Am I the only one who really dislikes this man?

Loudmouth, yes; publicity seeker, yes. BUT... he's often the only person, in the NYC area anyway, who tries to speak out for poor people (of all races, in some cases). I agree that he's too quick to call for boycotts, demonstrations, etc. every time there's a problem he doesn't like.
I don't know what his education level is, but he's a lot better at public speaking than some people who are educated, for example Pres. Bush--a man with degrees from Harvard and Yale! I practically cringe every time Bush mangles the English language. (Is it really that hard to pronounce "NEW- clee-ur"?) ;-)

LMAO... well Bush is the Al Sharpton of the white man! LOL He's a moron and a half and has a supposed "education" that says he's as smart as the best of 'em. *cough* Just proves money buys you anything if you can find the seller!
I can't say Sharpton doesn't do SOME good for those in poverty, etc. but from everything I've seen of him he is so rude, ignorant and self seeking of attention that he often takes away from the actual issue himself.

Idlewild...Jimmy Carter butchered English language but isn't it easy to ping on a Republican President? How high and mighty you must feel. Get all the former Presidents before spouting your CR@P!

I think he lives to keep racism alive. He and Jesse Jackson have done more to keep Black Americans down than any leader of the KKK or Aryan Nations.

Oh I couldn't agree more! Instead of approaching things with intelligence he approaches them with avengence. He would be lost if he didn't have something to call racist.

I agree 100% with that. I am anything but racist. We have a mixed raced child in our famiily and we all adore her. Jesse Jackson & Al. Sharpton are probably the two most racist people in the USA. Could anyone answer this - how do these two so called men make a living other than by promoting racism ?

If he is going to preach right and wrong then he needs to preach forgiveness. That man aplogized and hes being suspended so it wasnt ignored and he needs to go feed hungry children or do something worthwhile because he is not God and hes trying to play God. I never like it when anyone does that.

Growing up in the Bronx I've seen his face way too many times and I agree he is certainly a loudmouth. And it's the loudmouths in this country that increase the level of racism in my opinion. It's not a peaceful way to prove your argument. Gandhi didn't do it that way and Martin Luther King didn't do it that way. It goes to show how much you can accomplish without yelling out to the ends of the world.

Couldn't agree more. As they say, honey works better then vinegar any day unless you're creating a pickle! He loves to end up in the middle of a pickle patch! There are so many other eloquent black men and women out there that approach various subjects and wrong doings, racism, etc that there is no need to do it with a lack of respect or manners. Screaming only irritates people more, causing even more uproar and anger.

You and I ought to have a contest to see who dislikes him the most.lol.I never have liked him. He was demanding an apology from Imus but I noticed he never apologized for the trouble he has caused.Look at what he did to the duke la cross team.he gave them such a hard time for raping that black woman but it turned out not to be true but did sharpton apologize for ruining those men's lives?Nooooo! In the mid 80's there was a cop caught on video beating a black man in cuffs up in trenton.he shot off his big mouth.said he was gonna lead a big march downtown .he was gonna do this and he was gonna do that UNTIL he got to Trenton and found out that the cop himself happened to be black.Did he apologize to the cops he falsely accused?nooooo! and what about in teaneck ,nj when a black girl accused a group of white men of raping her and it turned out to be false. did he apologize for the trouble he caused? nooooo! he's just a publicity seeker and i can't stand him.sorry .I got kinda carried away but he really irks me!

I don't think he would try again for president. He tried it before and wasn't very successful. I think i would leave the country if he ever did win lol

I agree...Al Sharpton is a publicity hound and I don't care for him either. I'm from NY and I've seen him in action IN person. I can't help but think that he knows instinctively which situations would generate the most publicity/uproar.
You're right also about him never apologizing to any of the people you mentioned.
With all his faults though, you have to admit he gets people stirred up one way or the other. Do you think that we're going to get an announcement that he too will be running for president in the '08 elections? Too back I'm not eligible to vote yet.

I personally like Al; somethings I don't agree with him on, but for the most part, I like the fact that he is there repping our interests; I respect that.

I totally disagree with you.Sharpton was only shows up in places where he knows there is gonna be alot of publicity. do you really think he cared that guy got shot over 50 times? No. He only cared about the publicity he got for himself. I have no toleration for people like that,no matter what color they are.

Let me get real here; I respect what ya'll are saying, but let me add some things here; When Amadou Diallio was shot over 30 times by NYPD over nothing(IMHO); Al was there making sure his name stayed out there front and center; Now he is out there with the family of Ricky Bell(the guy who was killed on the morning of his wedding by NYPD over 50 times)making sure that they get the coverage he needs; OK, deep down, I feel he is out there for self too; I wonder about his motives, but I respect that he is there for the folks who need to. He also was there for James Brown and his family because he is a close personal friend; so just to be real about it, he picks up certain causes and go with it.

Wouldn't say he's an idiot after all he has made quite a good income for him self using with his talk radio and speaking. But am also sure he has his own interests at heart and and now way is he for anyone thant does not fit his narrow minded way of thinking. He is like a lot of other out spoken do gooder types that have a lot to say about everyone else and little creative things for actually changing the way people think or act. It's a shame folks like this are quick to talk about everyone else but in their own life do nothing to really affect change.

I was in a restaurant one time when Al Sharpton was in town, he unfortunately came to the same place. He was loud, and obnoxious. We left without finishing dinner. He is a publicity seeker. He may try and help people who are down, but he looks extremely stupid and when he back people that are lying.
